Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of rural-to-urban migration. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention education and economic growth as benefits, and deforestation as a drawback, the arguments lack depth and specific analysis. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not fully synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' rather than just stating the consequence. Your position is clear, but the overall development of the argument needs more sophistication to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To elucidate,' 'For example,' and 'To conclude.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of housing and the environmental impact could be better linked to show a stronger causal relationship. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is underdeveloped and lacks a strong concluding statement that summarizes your overall stance on whether this is a positive or negative development.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'migration,' 'deforestation,' and 'significate' (though this is a spelling error). However, there is a lack of precision and some repetitive word choices, such as the frequent use of 'good' and 'improve.' There are also several spelling errors, such as 'there' instead of 'their,' 'significate' instead of 'significant,' and 'breading' instead of 'breathing.' These errors are noticeable but do not necessarily impede communication. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and double-check your spelling of common words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it also have drawbacks,' 'it can also leads to improve') and article usage (e.g., 'in village,' 'cut tree'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors indicate a lack of control over complex structures. To reach a higher band, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading your work for these basic errors before finishing would significantly improve your score.
