Student answer (Band 5.0)
NOW A DAYS PEOPLE ARE MOVING TO THE CITIES FROM RURAL AREA BECAUSE OF THAT POPULATION IS DECREASING IN THE COUNTRYSID AND WHICH IS HAPPENING IN MANY COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD.
AS OF MY KNOWLEDGE IN SOME WAYS THIS IS POSITIVE CHANGE AND IN SOME MANNER THAT IS NAGATIVE. WE ALL KNOW THAT RIGHT NOW EVERYONE WANT BETTER GROWTH IN THEIR LIFE SO THEY DO NOT HAVE CHOICE THEY HAVE TO MOVE IN TO BIG CITIES FOR THEIR BETTER FUTURE. AS OF NOW PARENTS WANTS BEST EDUCATION FOR THEIR CHILDREN SO ANY HOW THEY HAVE TO MOVE TO BIG CITIES OR THEY HAVE TO PUT CHILDREN IN HOSTELS BUT SOME OF THE PARENTS DON'T FIND HOSTEL AS A GOOD OPTION SO THEY TRIED TO MOVE TO A BIG CITIES. IN ADDITION OF THAT EVERYONE WANT GOOD MEDICAL SERVICE WHICH IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN RURAL AREA BCZ OF EVEN THAT PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO M OVE TO BIG CITIES WHICH HAVE GOOD MEDICAL SERVICES AND THEY ARE QUICK.
EAPICIALLY I CAN FEEL THAT YOU CAN LEAVE BETTER IN RURAL AREA BECAUSE FIRSTLY THEIR IS LEAA TRAFFIC THAN THE CITIEAS AND EVEN LESS POLUJTION IN THE RURAL AREA THAN THE CITIES SO YOU CAN LEAVE MORE YEARS THAN YOU LEAVE IN CITIES. SECONDLY PERSONALLY I FEEL THAT WHO IS LEAVING IN THE RURAL AREA THEY ARE QUITE POLITE , SENSETIVE AND MORE HEARTLY THAN THE PEOPLE ARE LEAVING IN CITIES.
THIRDLY YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE DIFFERANCE IN EXPENCE IF YOU ARE LEAVING IN RURAL AREA YOU DON 'T HAVE ALOT OF THINGS TO DO ON WEEKEND SO YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF MONEY THAN YOU LIVE IN CITIES FUTHREMORE I CAN SEE ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH GOOD WEALTH AND HEALTH IN RURAL AREA THAN CITIES.
TO SUMM UP I CAN SAY THAT IF YOU ARE LEAVING IN CITIES SO YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO SPEND WITH THE FAMILIES BUT AS COMPARE YOU HAVE ALOT OF TIME TO SPEND WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention education and medical services as drivers for migration, these points are not fully explored with specific examples or logical depth. The second half of the essay shifts to the benefits of rural life, but the arguments remain general and lack a cohesive link to the overall migration trend. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear, well-supported argument that directly answers whether this is a positive or negative development, rather than simply listing observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Thirdly'). There are instances where the logical flow between sentences is weak, particularly in the transition between the reasons for moving and the benefits of rural living. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the progression of ideas feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the variety of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'COUNTRYSID', 'NAGATIVE', 'EAPICIALLY', 'LEAA', 'POLUJTION', and 'EXPENCE'. You rely on basic vocabulary like 'good', 'better', and 'big', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are also persistent errors in word choice, such as using 'leave' instead of 'live' throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more academic and topic-specific terms and focus on accurate spelling and correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'EVERYONE WANT' should be 'everyone wants', and 'AS COMPARE' is grammatically incorrect. The use of punctuation is also problematic, with many run-on sentences and missing commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions.
