Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes this is true the rural areas people are moving to cities for best life this is common in some countries .

point of view on this topic is both side views some side this is positive people is searching for the best life more opportunities and the people grab this opportunities . Cities have more jobs and more money for money people are moving to cities in today's age money is everything . Cities have more factories more more developing area's which give more facilities . In the other side people have rural life which not suitable for more decent job's but in the other hand most of the people think rural life is best for living that's why he stay there and not think about to move the cities.

we discuss about some positive thinking and now we talk about the negative development .

the negative development is when the all of the people is move to cities then the rural area's have not more people and these area's not develop to next some year's . when the people think to move is not move to cities they think to move countries when people move to cities then they think to move more next like to move the other country that's why the population of this country is decreasing more and more after some year's .

I have real example i'm from pakistan some year's back in my country in cities less people live and then the rural area's people are moving to cities but in the end the result is most of the people every year move to other countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration. However, the position is not clearly maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the motivation for moving (money and jobs) and the consequences (depopulation). The development of ideas is limited; for instance, the argument about people moving to other countries is introduced abruptly and is not clearly linked to the core issue of rural-to-urban migration. To improve, you should focus on developing a clear, consistent argument and providing more specific, well-explained examples that directly support your main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there are attempts to use transition phrases like 'on the other side' and 'in the other hand', these are often used incorrectly or repetitively. Paragraphing is present but does not effectively separate distinct ideas; the transition between the positive and negative aspects is abrupt and lacks a cohesive link. The use of referencing is also weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph focuses on a single, well-structured idea would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple words like 'more', 'people', and 'move'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'best life' instead of 'better quality of life' and 'not develop to next some year's'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'urbanisation', 'economic prospects', 'infrastructure', and 'demographic shift', and pay closer attention to correct word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people is searching'), incorrect pluralisation (e.g., 'job's', 'area's'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which hinders readability. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of apostrophes. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and reducing the frequency of errors that impede the reader's understanding of your intended meaning.
