Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the points regarding 'better job opportunities' and 'developing skills' overlap significantly, and the explanation of the negative impact on agriculture is brief and lacks depth. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped, preventing a more sophisticated analysis. To improve, you should focus on expanding each main point with more specific, logical examples rather than listing multiple similar ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Moreover', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. The internal structure of sentences is frequently broken by punctuation errors and awkward phrasing, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the positive and negative arguments is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'facilities', 'jobs', and 'money'. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'migritation', 'avalibility', 'dermits', 'effecy') and incorrect word choices that occasionally impede communication. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'multinational companies' and 'agricultural products', but these are not consistently integrated well. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, academic synonyms and ensure that you are using words in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('migritation are', 'people moving... many reduce'), missing articles, and sentence fragments. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper structure or ending abruptly. The majority of your sentences contain errors, which frequently distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like missing prepositions and incorrect verb forms.
