IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries around the world, rural people are moving to cities, so the population in the countryside is decreasing.

Do you think this is a positive or a negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

(Part 2)

-> Nowadays many people are moving to urban areas leaving their village. As a result population of countrysides are facing significant amount of decline. In my opinion it is a positive development because many of them migrates from villages to cities in search of education, jobs and quality lifestyle.

In this contemporary age, many individuals prefer to have convenient and easy lifestyle rather than difficult. In search of such living they moving to bigger cities, which is a positive change It can provide them with various opportunity regarding education, jobs, transportation, health and many Other facilities. These things can lift their lifestyle, so they are moving to urban areas, leaving countryside. When it comes to education, jobs, and health they prefer to move to another city or state, which is advantageous for them. For example, in many countries a large of youths are leaving their village so they could have a better life.

Another thing to consider is that its negative effect on countryside. Moving to cities has affected the life of a countryside. Moreover it has also affect the cities with overcrowd. leaving villages by local people can be distressful among older citizens. There would be no longer younger people who could help Senior citizen with small works. and furthermore villeage will left behind interms of developement. For instance if every youth leaves their hometown in search of quality life then only old people will remain their, which might make them helpless in serious matters like deaths, marriage, social functions and social works.

In conclusion, it is both negative and positive developement. However its positive effect clearly outweighs its negative effect. It provides them education, better health, financial condition and other services, so it is clear that it is a positive developement.
