Student answer (Band 5.0)
In countries like south Asia there are no facilities in rural areas so people of rural areas are shifting to the urban areas. Where they will have Electricity, easily access to hospitals and schools, one more important thing the situation of law and order is good then rural areas. That's why people are moving to cities.
Everyone has a right to bright his or her future.
Government should Proper plan the Rural areas to prevent the migration to city, and do proper work to facilitate the rural areas.
For this government have to make better roads which can connect village to city easily, and should establish good education institutions for boys and girls where they can get quality education. Ans should give them health facility at their door step. For the law and order situation state need to appointment best police officers and can open new police stations where it needed.
If government do this then moving from rural areas to cities can prevent.
In my opinion It's negative, and it is also not good for the people of village because in villages they have big houses, green air, and the ecosystem was clean. Many people came to city from rural areas they became sick because of the pollution of city and they are not live comfortable in cities
In conclusion, government should take a steps to prevent this negative shifting. For this state should give facilities in the villages and make ruler areas suitable for living. so less people should move to cities

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing why rural-to-urban migration occurs and clearly stating a position that this is a negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The student mentions push factors like a lack of facilities and pull factors like better infrastructure, and later touches upon environmental and health concerns in cities. While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments lack depth and extended examples, which places this response at Band 5.0 according to the descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks proper paragraphing and cohesive devices, resulting in disjointed progression. Sentences like 'Everyone has a right to bright his or her future' stand isolated as single-sentence paragraphs. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as abrupt transitions between points. Although there is an attempt to structure the essay with an introduction, body, and conclusion, the overall organisation is basic and lacks clear overall progression, aligning with Band 5.0 criteria.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as the frequent repetition of 'facilities,' 'rural areas,' and 'cities.' There are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'bright his or her future' instead of 'brighten' or 'build,' 'green air' instead of 'fresh air,' and 'ruler areas' instead of 'rural areas.' These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The range is minimally adequate for the task, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple and flawed complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('state need to appointment'), tense inconsistencies ('they are not live comfortable'), and missing prepositions or articles. Punctuation and capitalisation errors are also common. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and reflect the Band 5.0 descriptors for grammatical accuracy.
