Student answer (Band 5.0)

In various religons all over the world, most villagers are moving into cities,so the population in the rural ares are decrease day-by-day. From my prospactive, it's a very positive development beacuse cities give more oppertunity for growing up.

Firstly, no doubt their are many advantages to living in developing areas. For example, young generation in rural areas are move into the cities for higer education. And many higer education sector are alos in cities. That's why, students try to transfer into cities. Moreover, there are many oppertunity to get jobs. For example, if i talk about lahore, there are multiple types of large compines like Olpers and Fatima fertilization. So students after completing their intermediate move to lahore and try to get job in this compines. In my personal opinion, cities play very crucial role in student and people life.

Secondaly, other point of view that duo to moving in cities also causes many disadvantages. Rural areas also play very essential role in human life. For example, most people in countryside work in their field. Thay also growing many types of crops like sugercanes field, weat crops and some others. Suger are made with sugercane. That every one used. Moreover, most people in village had many animals like cows and goats. So peoples who live into cities also use this milk. But if all people are moving into cities thenit causes badly effect on econmy. And pet enimals are died or become wild. If people's are move into cities in a limit then it is very good for boths.

To conclude, no doubt cities is very important for development but rural ares are also play very crucial roles in our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration, presenting a personal perspective. However, the position is somewhat confusingly framed at the beginning with the phrase 'In various religons all over the world' which seems to be a misused word for regions or a general distraction. The ideas are relevant, mentioning education and job opportunities in cities, as well as agricultural loss in rural areas, but they tend to be basic and under-developed. Examples such as 'lahore' and specific companies like 'Olpers' are provided, but overall development lacks depth and analytical rigor. The conclusion briefly reiterates points without adding closure. This aligns well with the Band 5 descriptor, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps visually structure the response, but the overall progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive transitions and weak logical links. For instance, the transition 'Secondaly, other point of view that duo to moving in cities also causes many disadvantages' is awkward and grammatically flawed. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used, but they are often mechanically applied rather than fluidly integrating ideas. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'Thay also growing many types of crops', where pronoun usage breaks down. Paragraphing is attempted, though paragraphs lack clear internal cohesion. This reflects Band 5 performance, featuring some organisation but lacking clear overall progression and displaying inadequate or inaccurate cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and limited, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples of errors include 'religons' instead of regions, 'ares' instead of areas, 'prospactive' instead of perspective, 'beacuse', 'oppertunity', 'higer', 'compines', 'sugercanes', 'weat', and 'econmy'. While the student attempts to use some less common vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'intermediate', 'fertilization', and 'crucial', these are undermined by severe spelling inaccuracies and improper collocations. The range is minimally adequate to convey a simple message, but the high frequency of lexical errors places this firmly in the Band 4 to Band 5 range. Because communication is occasionally strained by spelling and word-choice issues, a Band 4.5 is appropriate, but sticking to whole or half bands, Band 5 captures the minimally adequate range with noticeable errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The student uses a mix of simple sentence forms alongside some attempts at complex structures, such as conditional or dependent clauses (e.g., 'if i talk about lahore, there are multiple types of large compines'). However, grammatical accuracy is very weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'population in the rural ares are decrease', 'their are many advantages', 'peoples who live into cities also use'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect spacing and lower-case letters at the start of sentences or proper nouns. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of control over basic sentence structures, aligning with the Band 4 criteria where errors are frequent, though meaning is still partially recoverable.
