Student answer (Band 5.0)

The growing influence of population in modern society has sparked various debates. In many nations around the goble, farming people are moving to cities, therefore the population in the countryside are declined. I believe this is a positive development and everyone can get a benefits from it. In this essay, I will discuss this view and give my opinion with some suitable examples.

There are many benefits of moving from rural areas to urban areas. In farimg areas students face a lot of problems because in areas do not have any colleges for higher education. A second merit, when people are suffering from harmful diseases then they are going to urban areas because in village do not have hospitals for treatment of all diseases.

For example, when people gets all facilities in cities then they are preferred to living in the countryside rather than rural areas.

However, when people are living in cities they encounter a lot of issues. Rural areas people are liked to living in large houes but in cities large spaces do not have available, that is why it becomes difficult for them to stay there. Furthermore, farimg people wants to eating the fresh vegetables and fruits but in cities, these things are not present then they are suffering from diseases. As shown by various studies, when people are moving in urban areas then food crisis are reached at peak side and people well-being are complete damage when they are eating the junk food.

In conclusion, in think advantages of this point is more rather than disadvantages. People are moving from one place to other place for better facilities otherwise they do not liked it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the rural-to-urban shift is a positive development, primarily because of better educational and medical facilities in cities. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes confused. For example, in the third paragraph, the student mentions that people 'preferred to living in the countryside rather than rural areas' when they get facilities, which contradicts the overall premise of the essay and causes confusion regarding the intended argument. Additionally, the counter-argument section in the fourth paragraph introduces somewhat contradictory and unsupported claims about city life causing health issues due to a lack of fresh vegetables. While all parts of the task are addressed, the support is uneven and occasionally lacks clarity, placing the response at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps establish a basic structure including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression lacks smooth transitions, and referencing is frequently unclear. For instance, the use of cohesive devices like 'A second merit' and 'However' attempts to structure the text, but the internal logical links between sentences are often strained. In the body paragraphs, sentences such as 'Rural areas people are liked to living in large houes but in cities large spaces do not have available' disrupt the flow of information. Furthermore, paragraphing is not always used effectively to separate distinct arguments, leading to an overall score of 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The student demonstrates a limited range of vocabulary with frequent errors in word choice and spelling. Examples include spelling errors such as 'goble' instead of 'global', 'farimg' instead of 'farming', and 'houes' instead of 'houses'. There are also frequent issues with collocation and word forms, such as 'population are declined', 'people gets all facilities', and 'well-being are complete damage'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a vocabulary that is basic and repetitive, restricting the score to Band 4.5. However, because communication is maintained despite the errors, it sits comfortably within the lower-mid range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

Grammatically, the essay relies primarily on simple and attempted complex structures, but these are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement and verb tenses, such as 'the population in the countryside are declined', 'village do not have hospitals', and 'farimg people wants to eating'. Complex sentence attempts often contain multiple errors, for example: 'when people are moving in urban areas then food crisis are reached at peak side'. Punctuation is also basic and occasionally problematic. Because errors are very frequent and routinely impede the clarity of the sentences, this falls under the Band 4.5 descriptor.
