Student answer (Band 6.0)
In majority of countries, rural people are moving to urban areas resulting a decrease in population. Although the countryside is a place where you can find more organic things and peace, it lacks in terms of many services which can ease people's life. In my opinion migrating towards big cities would be more beneficiary than living in villages.
The life opportunities are easyily available in urban areas. A large number of facilities in every aspect of life is present in cities. For example, the standards of education are more better in urban localities than in rural. The presence of number of educational institutes have made education accessible to everyone. There is no limit of seats and facilities. If people wants to educate themselve or their children then moving to any city of their choice is a great option.
Moreover, in cities more medical facilities are available in contrast to villages. The high number of hospitals and clinics can be found at a very short distance with highly qualified doctors specialized in any field. The hospitals are also well developed in terms of technology and facilities. For instance, if an individual wants to go to a doctor in case of any emergency, living in city will save them the time of travelling and with better facilities they could find the relevant doctor easily.
Nowadays, everyone wants to make their life easy and cities provide all those opportunities, whether it is in terms of technology, medically, educational, financial or employment. Although the population in countryside is decreasing, the countryside can be used as a place where people can go for vacation or to relax from their busy lifes in cities.
In conclusion migration of rural people to cities is a wise decision to made for the improvement of their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that the rural-to-urban migration is a positive development. The main ideas regarding educational and medical facilities are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the comparison of school standards and hospital access. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise and lack deeper analytical depth, particularly regarding the socio-economic impacts on rural areas. The development is generally well-structured throughout the essay, fulfilling the core requirements of a Band 6.5 or 7.0 response in terms of task coverage and stance clarity.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct central topic, moving smoothly from education to medical services, and finally to lifestyle benefits. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' are used to connect ideas, though referencing is sometimes slightly mechanical or repetitive ('in cities', 'facilities'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to group related ideas. While overall cohesion is clear and effective, minor lapses in transitional flow prevent the response from achieving a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision, employing terms like 'organic', 'localities', 'emergency', and 'financial or employment'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'In majority of countries' (missing article), 'easyily' (spelling), 'more better' (double comparative), and 'medically' used as an adverb in a list of nouns. These occasional inaccuracies in word choice and spelling reflect a typical Band 6 profile, where an adequate range is attempted but control over less common items remains inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures ('If people wants to educate...') and subordinate clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people wants', 'decision to made'), missing articles ('In majority of countries', 'living in city'), and awkward phrasing like 'the standards of education are more better'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a Band 7.0.
