Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, the movement of rural peoples to cities is increased day by day because everbody wants better facilities to live their life. Due to that the population in country side is decreasing. I believe that the overall decline of rural population is a negative development particularly. I will discuss this trend and provide a logical conclusion.
To start with, the major impact of rural people who moving to cities is on agriculture sector. To explain this, when the workers who do the work as a farmer on farm or lands in country side area were move to cities. So it put a big impact on the agriculture land which become non- fertile when it not come in use for a long time and also make peressure on imported food. For example: in punjab the people who lived in country side area were now move to cities also some of them moving to abroad. So therefore the land of punjab mostly become unfertile or coverd with big buildings which put impact on agriculture system.
Moving on, create problems for cities migraction. To justify this, when majority of people moving to cities so it leads to high cost of living. Such as it make big demands using electricity, water supply and other important things which use in daily routain in everyone life. Additionally, it make imapct on traffic which increaesed according to the population in cities also on school, medical center and on markets.
On the other hand, it helps to make life more convinent. To elobrate this, when people move to cities so they have lot of opportunity of jobs also it provide better education from countrty side schools to their children. It also helps in emergancy such as when someone needs a health tritment so they can easily go the neabrly hospital which give them a better tritment. However in counrty side area there are very few chances of better facilities or patients.
To conclude, it prevent better life with good facilities. But also create problems for city migracation and give impact on agriculture land in country side area to make them unfertile.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the trend of rural migration to cities and clearly stating a position that this is a negative development. Ideas are presented and supported with examples, such as the agricultural impact in Punjab and urban issues like increased demand for infrastructure. However, some ideas are repetitive and underdeveloped, particularly in the conclusion and body paragraphs, where points regarding job opportunities and convenience are introduced without sufficient extension. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptor, where all parts of the task are addressed, but some areas lack full development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is organised into distinct paragraphs, following a traditional introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion structure. However, logical progression is often hindered by mechanical and repetitive transitions such as "To start with," "Moving on," and "To elobrate this." Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, and sentences within paragraphs sometimes lack smooth inter-sentential links, making the overall flow somewhat disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but grouping of ideas could be managed more effectively to ensure a clearer overall progression, placing this performance at Band 5.5 to 6.0, best represented by Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic arguments about urban migration and agriculture. There are several attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as "agriculture sector," "unfertile," and "cost of living." However, there are frequent word-choice and spelling errors (e.g., "peoples," "country side," "peressure," "migraction," "tritment," "neabrly") that reflect a limited range and cause occasional strain for the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. These characteristics fit the Band 5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak throughout the essay. There are frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and clause structures (e.g., "the movement of rural peoples to cities is increased day by day," "when the workers who do the work... were move to cities," "it make big demands using electricity"). Punctuation and article usage are also problematic. Because these frequent errors cause difficulty and prevent the majority of sentences from being error-free, the performance aligns securely with Band 5.
