Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, people from villages are moving to urban area, as a result down fall in the population of rural is observed. In my opinion its a destructive change.
One of the most convincing reason behind my negative development is that if people from villages move to cities than who perform farming and grow food for our country. Moreover, people may face problem of inflation.
Not only this, many people come to cities than there is shortage of job. Many people can suffer from unemployement. The main reason behind this is that there are limited number of jobs in market and there are so many people and because of it people can find very tough compition in jobs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task partially, stating a clear position that the rural-to-urban migration is a destructive change, and presents a few limited ideas such as the impact on farming, inflation, and job shortages. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples or extension. Furthermore, the response falls significantly short of the minimum word count requirement, reaching only 117 words instead of the required 250 words. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to fully develop each main point with detailed explanations and examples, and ensure that the length requirement is fully satisfied.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation in the response, dividing ideas into short paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression across the text as a whole. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inaccurately, such as the abrupt transitions ('One of the most convincing reason', 'Not only this, many people come to cities than there is shortage of job'). Paragraphing is attempted, but the paragraphs are very brief and underdeveloped. To improve in this criterion, the writer should use a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices to connect ideas smoothly and structure the essay with clear, fully developed paragraphs that follow a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer makes noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation, such as 'urban area' instead of 'urban areas', 'down fall' instead of 'downfall', 'unempleyement' (spelling), and 'tough compition' instead of 'tough competition'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with frequent inaccuracies that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to expand their lexical range, use more precise academic vocabulary, and ensure correct word forms and spelling throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic patterns. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as 'One of the most convincing reason behind my negative development is that if people from villages move to cities than who perform farming'. There are frequent errors in grammar, plurals, prepositions, and verb forms, including subject-verb agreement issues ('its a destructive change' and 'people can suffer from unemployement'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of complex grammatical structures with greater accuracy.
