Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's rapidly evoilving world, the movement of citizens from rural regions to urban areas has become prevalent, enabling people to discover better standards of living, so the number of inhabitants in the countryside has been decreasing. I believe this development has both positive and negative aspects.
To begin with the, propoenents emphasize that if people migrate from rural areas to cities, they can get a wide range of job obbortunities, better medical facilities, education and shelters for living. To elaborate, adolescents who have completed their graduation and finding a well-paid job with satbility, then moving to cities can be an adavntageous approach for them. This is because one of the major benefits is they can learn new skills, knowledge, assimilation, adaptability and experience. In addition, learners in metropolitan cities learn on computer-based academic disciplies ,team work and project discussion in class rooms, which enable them to meet prerequisites of future employers. For instance, according to a report by WEM- the World Education Ministry demonstrated that a considerable proportion of the population in developing nations prioritise their offspring in major cities by compromising and selling heir domiciles in rural areas. Another worth considering merit is exceptional healthcare sector. It is evidenced in many urban areas that a substantial number of migrants visit city's hospital to be treated by highly qualified medical professionals.
However, despite the given argument, critices argue that this development has certain drawbacks. Due th the fact that if metropolitan cities would be densely populated, residents may suffer from the shortage of houses, escalated cost of living and inflation and lack of high profile professional opportunities on account of over congestion in the workplace. Admittedly they may suffer from mental pressure, and not being able to fulfill the needs of their family's basic necessities. Consequently, this development can enhance financial disparities, prejudice, discrimination and social unrest among the citizens, if not individuals get equal opportunities to enahnce their standards of living.
To conclude, although this development has some disadvantages such as inqualith and dissatisfaction, the advancement in migration field can be proven highly beneficial and indispensable for the young adults who want to get high standards of living.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration, presenting a clear position throughout. The arguments are generally relevant, fulfilling the requirements for the mid-band level. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the discussion on job opportunities and healthcare is extended with examples, whereas other points, such as educational advantages and social unrest, tend to be repetitive or somewhat under-developed rather than deeply explored. To move further up, the ideas would need more consistent extension and tighter integration with specific, well-reasoned consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, utilizing paragraphing to separate distinct ideas and viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'However' are employed to guide the reader through the text. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, such as in the opening phrase 'To begin with the, propoenents' and abrupt transitions between sentences. While the logical progression is generally maintained throughout the body paragraphs, a more flexible and natural use of cohesive ties is required to reach a higher level of fluency.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'metropolitan cities', 'escalated cost of living', and 'financial disparities'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors like 'evoilving', 'propoenents', 'obbortunities', 'satbility', 'adavntageous', 'disciplies', 'critices', and 'inqualith', alongside awkward word choices and collocations such as 'shelters for living' and 'migration field'. These errors reflect a limitation in precise word control, though they rarely prevent the overall meaning from coming across to the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures like conditional and subordinate clauses. However, there are several grammatical errors present, such as 'Due th the fact that if metropolitan cities would be densely populated', preposition errors inside grammatical patterns, and issues with article usage and clause structure. These errors persist throughout the text, though they rarely impede communication. To achieve a higher band, the writer would need to produce a higher frequency of error-free complex sentences and exercise tighter control over punctuation and verb forms.
