Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries globally, villagers are migrating towards urban areas. Some people think this is a positive exercise and many others take it as a threat to the society. I am biased towards the school of thought that considers it as a threat.
The main reason of it, is lack of resources in rural areas for instance they have poor education facilities, less health facilities and other infrastructures. That is why they move towards big cities however due to this movement, the resources and the requirement balance has been distrubed significantly. For example: Lahore is a city of Pakistan and it contains more than 20 million people in it and most of them have came from countryside due to this citizens are facing a lot of issues like pollution, traffic saturation and less vacancies in professional fields.
Moreover, there is an other threat related to this regard which is the shortage in agricultural fields. Because most of the villagers do farming but when they migrate towards city they sell their lands to real estate builders and they construct buildings and lauch housing societies there. In this way, government has to import the basic crops like Wheat, Rice and Corn which results in inflation.
In conclusion, this migration has plenty of bad impacts overall on the country as well as on the respective city. But we could not solely blame villagers because they are not being given their basic rights consequently, they had to leave their hometown. State should give them basic facilities so, that they don't find it inevitable to migrate.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your response addresses all parts of the task by clearly presenting a position that rural-to-urban migration is a negative development. You explore relevant ideas such as the lack of rural infrastructure and the resulting pressure on major cities like Lahore, which sits comfortably within the expectations for this level. However, some ideas remain under-developed or briefly stated rather than fully extended. For instance, the discussion on agricultural decline and subsequent food imports touches on a strong point regarding inflation, but this consequence is not fully explored with deeper analysis or a specific example. To move towards higher levels, you need to ensure that every main idea is extended and supported thoroughly with fully elaborated consequences and explanations throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing distinct points, and a logical conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure your arguments, moving from infrastructure issues to agricultural impacts. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or features referencing that is not always clear, such as the transition phrases in sentences like 'The main reason of it, is...' and 'Moreover, there is an other threat related to this regard'. Cohesive devices are occasionally overused or awkward in structure. To achieve a higher standard, you should employ smoother, more natural linking words and ensure that pronouns and referencing markers connect ideas seamlessly without drawing unnecessary attention to themselves.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary items such as 'migrating', 'infrastructure', and 'inflation'. Communication is generally clear despite some lexical inaccuracies. There are noticeable word choice and collocation slips, such as 'positive exercise' instead of a positive development, 'less health facilities' instead of fewer health facilities, and 'lauch housing societies' containing a spelling error. Additionally, phrases like 'have came' indicate some lexical-grammatical interference. To reach higher bands, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary with greater precision, demonstrating a stronger awareness of natural collocations, word forms, and accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at complex structures through conditional clauses and relative markers, such as 'State should give them basic facilities so, that they don't find it inevitable to migrate.' There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('the lack of resources', 'the government'), incorrect prepositions ('reason of it' instead of reason for it), comma splices, and tense inconsistencies. Fortunately, these errors rarely impede overall communication. To improve your grammatical standing, you need to reduce the frequency of basic structural errors, exercise better control over punctuation, and increase the proportion of error-free complex sentences.
