Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, Across the world, it was noticed that many residents of rural area is now shifting to urban areas due to which decline in the population in the countryside is observed. According to my opinion, it is a positive development because in the urban area peoples gets opportunities along with that it will contribute for the development and betterment of outskirt areas.
Initially, peoples are less aware of the opportunities and facilities which is present in urban areas they always preferred to spent their entire life in the villages and the countryside area because of the fresh air and good environment in villages. In recent years many residents are migrating to a big cities for better future and more facilities. Because in the city every basic necessity of life is available to the every resident. They gets a feasible job and a quality of education for their children. Along with that, health care services are available in the cities they donot have to travel on a long distance in case of emergency situations. For instance many death cases were reported in villages because they were not able to reached to the hospital at exact time due to poor infrastructure and lack of hospitals in the villages.
On the other hand, it is beneficial for the development of rural areas because of increasing in populations in urban areas and decline in rural areas the population balance between both areas disturbed alot. cities gets more conjusted and crowded and villages gets empty. The nation's representatives takes action and trying to manage every basic need in the rural areas so, the residents of villages donot face any difficulty and also it is a step to stop frequently migrating peoples by providing what they are searching for. For example, in Pakistan villages are getting advanced and every basic necessity is available to residents in the countrysides and outskirts areas.
To conclude, peoples are frequently moving to urban areas for better future and the life with every facilities which causes drop in the population of rural areas. I think it is a positive approach for both urban and rural area residents both gets facilities. some gets facilitated by moving to a big cities others gets from the development projects of the countryside areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that the rural-to-urban migration is a positive development. Main ideas are presented, such as employment and educational opportunities in cities and the subsequent governmental focus on rural development, which meets the requirements of a solid mid-level score. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for example, while the discussion on city advantages like healthcare access is elaborated with an example of delayed hospital reach, the point regarding rural development is somewhat generalized and lacks deeper extension. The position is clear throughout the essay, demonstrating a good attempt to address the prompt fully, though further elaboration on the long-term consequences of depopulation would help elevate the response to the next level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement, featuring a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, such as the benefits of city life in the second paragraph and the impact on rural areas in the third. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, seen in repetitive transitional phrasing like 'Initially' and 'On the other hand' which do not always logically introduce the exact relationship between paragraphs. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use in 'others gets from the development projects', which creates slight bumps in the logical flow. A more flexible and varied use of cohesive devices would improve the progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'outskirt areas', 'infrastructure', and 'population balance'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form that reflect a lower band influence, such as 'peoples gets opportunities', 'conjusted', and 'frequently migrating peoples'. Spelling and word-formation slips are present, yet they rarely impede communication overall. To reach higher bands, the vocabulary must demonstrate greater precision, better control of collocations, and a wider range of sophisticated expressions without relying on repetitive basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capacity to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there is a lack of sustained accuracy, with frequent basic errors in grammatical agreement, verb forms, and articles. Examples include subject-verb disagreement such as 'many residents of rural area is' and 'peoples are less aware', alongside missing or incorrect prepositions and articles like 'travel on a long distance' and 'reached to the hospital'. Punctuation is also erratic in places, with run-on sentences in the conclusion. These frequent errors in basic grammatical patterns prevent the response from achieving a higher rating.
