Student answer (Band 5.0)
This decision made by the rural people to move towards the developing cities affects significantly the population at the countryside. It has positive impact for the cities. Firstly, cities gets more labour and man power to work in their industries. Secondly, cities get the labour at low cost as they are no longer urge to higher the workers from their own city. Moreover, rural people get a chance to work in a professional feilds. They get a chance for the skills development. Big cities brings opporunities for them in terms of medical, education and other facilities which they dont found in their rural areas. On the other hand, this migration made by the rural people has double sword towards their life. They have to face strict rules in the work place. Theu have to work hard in order to live for perfect accomodation and food. The reason is that big cities cost expensive accomodation and food while living there. While the rural areas has cheap accomdation and food as compared to the developing cities. They dont have to face strict codes of work in the rural areas. However, Big cities give many opporunities to these rural people but it demands huge sacrifices too. In my opinion, Yes it is a positive development for the rural people. it also decreases population which help the rural cities to manage their government curriculum and their people betterly. Finally, I want to say that it is positive development for the developing cities and rural people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, taking a clear position that rural-to-urban migration is a positive development, particularly for rural people. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. While the student outlines several points such as labour supply for cities and opportunities for rural workers, these points are presented without sufficient extension or detailed support. For instance, the mention of 'skills development' and 'medical, education and other facilities' is introduced briefly without elaboration. The position is maintained throughout the essay, but the overall treatment of the topic tends to be repetitive and lacks the fully fleshed-out arguments expected at higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response shows some organization with basic cohesive devices, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is poorly handled, as the entire body of the essay is compressed into a single massive block of text, making the logical flow difficult to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used, but they are often mechanical and repetitive. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun usage like 'They' and 'this migration made by the rural people has double sword', which disrupts the logical transition between sentences and ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'man power', 'professional feilds', and 'double sword', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form. For example, 'feilds' contains a spelling error, and phrases like 'higher the workers' misuse 'higher' instead of 'hire'. Additionally, repetitive use of basic vocabulary such as 'rural people', 'cities', 'accommodation', and 'food' causes some difficulty for the reader and restricts the precision of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex sentences that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage that can cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'This decision made by the rural people to move towards the developing cities affects significantly' (awkward word order) and 'cities gets more labour' (subject-verb agreement error). Other recurring issues include missing or incorrect prepositions, incorrect pluralisation like 'opporunities', and non-standard verb forms such as 'they dont found'.
