Student answer (Band 5.0)

People moving from rural place to cities and countryside population is decreasing is not complitly bad but at the same time its not good. before we start talking about positive or negative we need to understand why they are moving. In countryside people have a very huge problem and that is work they and have work. in the cities have have tons of work there a 100s of factorys and indestry and lot of oportunity for work but in countryside they don't have that not only about work and as well for good facility like school, hospital, house, mallas and ect. Every want to have a good life or easy life that hey can't have in countryside in countryside you have less work oportunity and less facility. thats why people want to move to cities but now if we talk about positivete and negativete it is a negative sign now let me tell you why if solwly solwly all the rural people start moving to cities then a job crise will star not only that house crise and the cites will be very crouded everythings price will go up, like rent, food , imported staf. because the demand will be high so every thing price will go up as well. until goverment decide to expand the citie area and not only that they need to provide a work palce as well and school hospital mall ect. but i think goverment should focouse on improving the countryside or eles rural people will all move to cities and it will be a choas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall judgement that the trend is negative, and you explain why people leave rural areas, mentioning employment and access to schools and hospitals. You also identify possible effects on cities, including crowding, housing pressure and rising prices. However, the response only partly develops the task: the reasons for migration take up substantial space, while the negative consequences are listed rather than explained with a specific example or fuller cause-and-effect reasoning. The opening also says the trend is neither completely bad nor good, which makes your position less clear before you later call it negative. State your view consistently from the beginning, then develop two main reasons with relevant examples and, if useful, acknowledge one counterpoint.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a recognisable movement from explaining why people migrate to describing the effects on cities and suggesting a response. Linking expressions such as “but,” “because” and “that’s why” help show some relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so its stages are difficult to follow, and the progression becomes repetitive: work and facilities are mentioned several times before the argument moves on. Some connections are unclear, particularly the shift from city pressures to the government’s need to expand urban areas. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, reasons and effects, and conclusion. Within them, organise each point in a clear sequence and use referencing and linking phrases accurately rather than relying on repeated “not only” constructions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “countryside,” “factory,” “opportunity,” “crowded,” “demand” and “government,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “work” and “facility.” Frequent spelling errors, such as “complitly,” “oportunity,” “indestry” and “goverment,” make the writing less clear and reduce the accuracy of your vocabulary. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “job crise” and “everythings price will go up.” Build a more precise set of terms for rural-to-urban migration and urban pressures, and check spelling and collocations carefully. This would help you express the same ideas more clearly and avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining that high demand may cause prices to rise, and you use some simple sentence forms to communicate your main points. However, the range of structures is limited, and many sentences contain frequent errors that make the reader work to understand them. Examples include “People moving from rural place to cities … is,” “they and have work,” and “if solwly solwly all the rural people start moving … then a job crise will star.” These show problems with sentence construction, verb forms and agreement. Punctuation is also weak, with long run-on sentences and inconsistent capitalisation. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them using accurate clauses and punctuation.
