Student answer (Band 5.5)

In most of the nations the urban areas is gradully leads towards the dense population which decline the population of rular area. Although migrating to urban areas makes polluted and crowded, I believe that benefits of the move outweight its drawnbacks, both for urban and rular residence.

The main drawnbacks is that highly dense population may tends to leads toward the pollution, traffic conjuction and market inflation. Numerous people may affect to health due to pollution. For example, Tokyo become the one of the most expensive city because of higher crowd and traffic conjuction is prevalent on major cities. Citizen may suffer in order to survive for their livelihood because of market inflation. Meanwhile, in the rular area cultivation may decrease and starvation rate may increase in some part.

However, the benifits are greater. Numerous citizen get the better lifestyle where they can get better employee opportunities, education, transportation and health service in urban areas. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider rural-to-urban migration a positive development despite its disadvantages. You address both sides, identifying urban crowding, pollution, traffic and inflation as drawbacks, then discussing employment, education, transport and healthcare as benefits. These are relevant reasons, and the Tokyo example gives one point some support. However, several ideas are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between rural population decline, reduced cultivation and starvation is not developed, and the business example does not show clearly how migration improves people’s lives. Explain the causes and consequences of your strongest points and make examples more specific to develop the response more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, separate paragraphs present disadvantages and advantages, and a conclusion restates your position. Connectors such as “Although,” “However,” and “For instance” help signal relationships between ideas. At times, though, the progression within paragraphs is less clear. The shift from urban inflation to rural starvation in the drawbacks paragraph needs a clearer link, while the conclusion introduces saving for the future without developing that point earlier. Some transitions, including “Meanwhile” and “whatever,” do not express the intended relationship precisely. Use linking phrases to show cause, contrast or result accurately, and ensure each paragraph develops a central point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “dense population,” “livelihood,” “cultivation,” “inflation” and “employee opportunities.” This gives you some range beyond basic everyday language. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow: “rular,” “drawnbacks,” “conjuction” and “benifits” recur or obscure key terms, while “employee opportunities” is not the natural phrase for jobs available to people. Some combinations are also awkward, such as “market inflation” and “initiate a new business.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases—for example, “employment opportunities,” “traffic congestion” and “start a business”—so your ideas are expressed more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at complex sentences, including the opening concession with “Although” and the contrast introduced by “Even though.” The main message is generally understandable, but some sentence structures and verb forms are faulty. For example, “the urban areas is gradully leads” combines incompatible verb forms and has subject–verb disagreement; “may tends to leads” also uses an incorrect verb pattern. Articles and plurals are inconsistent in phrases such as “the one of the most expensive city,” and the final sentence, “It can be seems,” has an incorrect passive construction. Practise forming clauses with one correctly inflected main verb, and review agreement, articles and modal verb patterns.
