Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, migration of rural indiviuals to cities is becoming increasingly common and the population of countryside people is effecting. In my opinion, this a largely negative development because it may led to home crisis in cities in future. And increasing population may also led to facilities unavailability.
One reason why this development is negative is that it will led to home crisis in future in cities. This is because when a large number of rurals will migrate to urban city, they will occupy more space in cities to build their homes or offices. For example, home crisis in pakistan is major issue today, where citizens have no space for building their homes.Luckily if they find any place it cost more than their finance. As a result, people have to survive on roads or under lamps.
Another important consideration is that it will led us to facilities unavailability. For instance when then numerous people migrate to cities, government have to work harder than before for new resources for citizens.I believe that we should have given the same resources and facilities to rural areas.By doing this,it will have massive decrease in rural people migration to cities.
In conclusion,i consider that rural migration to be a negative development because

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that rural-to-urban migration is negative and provide two relevant reasons: pressure on housing and difficulty supplying services. The Pakistan example also helps make the housing point more concrete. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both reasons are briefly stated and not fully explained; for example, the point about government resources does not specify which services become strained or how this affects residents. The conclusion is unfinished (“because”), so the position is not brought to a complete close. The response is also 57 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your ideas. Extend each reason with explanation or a specific example, and complete the conclusion by summarising your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and an attempted conclusion. The paragraphs each focus on a relevant reason, and phrases such as “One reason” and “Another important consideration” help signal the progression. However, the overall development is limited, and some links are unclear or mechanical. For instance, “For instance when then numerous people migrate” is difficult to follow, while “By doing this” does not clearly identify the action being referred to. The final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the ending. Use clearer links between cause and consequence, make references explicit, and ensure each paragraph develops its point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “migration,” “rural,” “urban,” “resources,” and “facilities,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “home crisis” instead of a more natural phrase such as “housing shortage,” “rurals” for “rural residents,” and “facilities unavailability,” which is not idiomatic. There are also spelling errors such as “indiviuals.” Aim to learn common collocations for urban growth and public services, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your arguments clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a conditional structure with “if.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “In my opinion, this a largely negative development” is missing a verb, and “it will led” uses an incorrect verb form; the same error recurs. The sentence beginning “when then numerous people migrate” also has faulty structure, and punctuation is often missing after introductory phrases and at sentence boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns, modal constructions such as “will lead,” and sentence punctuation. Build longer sentences only when you can control their grammar.
