Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries around the world, it is seen that rural people are moving to urban areas. There are many reasons of this activity that may include the access to better facilities like good education, better employment opportunities and timely health facilities. The chances of getting more development is also evident in urban areas as the exposure in comparison to rural areas is more here. In addition to this, cities offer much more to a person or family than countryside.
In my opinion, this change is not so positive change. To support my argument there are many reports indicating that the burden on cities are increasing day by day which increases the employment opportunities as well.
Both the countryside and cities are necessary for survival. both have there pros and cons. The countryside lifestyle, agriculture, farming and society building are the pillars. They cities may offer more facilities but it is significant to note that the culture of rural areas supoort the society.
For instance, if all the population of rural areas move to cities than the question arises that who would handle farming, agriculture? if the crops farming failed than the food structure of a society destroyed.
I, here, am not saying that people should not move from village to city but the complete migration will result in declining of safe environment.
if everyone wants to migrate than how will village will survive and how will the food cycle continues? This is not any kind of selfishness but the for the originality and organic sense of society will only be prevailed when there is organic lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the trend is “not so positive” and offer a relevant reason: rural communities contribute to farming and food supply. The example asking who would handle agriculture if people moved away helps connect the issue to a practical consequence. However, the response only partly develops the task. The opening mainly lists why people move to cities, while the negative position is supported by limited explanation; the claim that city pressure “increases the employment opportunities” is unclear and may contradict your argument. Develop the consequences more fully and explain whether you oppose migration itself or only large-scale migration. A more consistent position and clearer supporting examples would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some paragraphing and a recognisable sequence: reasons for migration, your opinion, the importance of rural life, and a farming example. Linking phrases such as “In addition to this” and “For instance” help signal relationships. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear. The second paragraph introduces city pressures but then says they increase employment opportunities, without explaining the connection. The final paragraphs repeat the same concern through several questions about migration and village survival. Some links are also awkward, such as “Both the countryside and cities are necessary for survival. both have…” Organise the argument into a clear position, two developed reasons, and a conclusion, using references that make each point’s connection explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “employment opportunities,” “agriculture,” “farming,” “culture,” and “food cycle,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “the burden on cities” and “declining of safe environment.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “reasons of this activity,” “the food structure of a society,” and “organic sense of society” do not express the ideas clearly. Spelling errors such as “supoort” also reduce accuracy. Prefer precise, natural collocations and avoid abstract phrases unless their meaning is clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer conditional structures, including “if all the population of rural areas move to cities…” This shows an effort to express cause and consequence, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some points harder to follow. Examples include “the burden on cities are increasing” (subject–verb agreement), “if the crops farming failed than…” (conditional form and sentence construction), and “how will village will survive” (incorrect question structure). There are also sentence-boundary and capitalisation problems, such as beginning “both” and “if” with lowercase letters after full stops. Practise accurate conditional patterns and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
