Student answer (Band 5.0)

One of the most pressing issues facing modern society is majority of people shifting from rural areas to urban areas .This essay will examine the both perspective situation.

A major contributing factors of the migration of people from villages to cities is to get opportunities those are unavailable in the village .The basic health care, education, jobs, are missing in the rural areas. So every rational person want to get up his standard of living.Furthermore getting basic necessities are the first right of every human being so they decide to migrate.

For example if i talk about Lahore majority of people are coming from other cities for the sake of jobs, education and getting good medical treatments. The native Lahories are just live in old Lahore .But the most populated area is covered by the migrated people. They increase the load on the cities .

In contrast The people live in countryside getting fresh environment, getting economical products .Majority of people have their own houses to live but in cities most the people live on rented houses.

The people get fresh air without any noise ,air ,water pollution. They are also very pure by nature,on the other hand people lives in cities are artificial by nature .They introvert by nature .They do not like gathering. In contrast people of village are extrovert they like gatherings .They feel happy to share things with each other.

in conclusion the life of village and cities are equally important .Evert person shoul know the merits and demerits of every areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss reasons people move to cities, including access to healthcare, education and jobs, and contrast these with rural benefits such as fresh air and lower housing costs. The Lahore example also makes the discussion more concrete. However, the question asks whether this trend is positive or negative, and your conclusion says rural and city life are “equally important” rather than clearly judging the development. As a result, your position is not consistently clear, and the ideas are only partly developed: for instance, you mention that migration increases pressure on cities but do not explain its consequences or weigh them against the benefits. State a definite overall view and support it with a few developed reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces migration, gives reasons for it, contrasts rural and urban life, and ends with a conclusion. Connectors such as “Furthermore,” “For example,” and “In contrast” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the overall progression is not always clear. The opening promises to examine “both perspective,” but the essay does not clearly organise the discussion into positive and negative effects of the population shift. Several contrast markers are repeated, and some links are unclear, such as the move from rural advantages to claims about city residents’ personalities. Organise each paragraph around one main point, use references that clearly identify who “they” means, and make the conclusion follow directly from the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “migration,” “rural areas,” “opportunities,” “standard of living,” and “pollution.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and some word combinations or forms are noticeably inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear. Examples include “basic health care, education, jobs, are missing,” “getting economical products,” and “the most populated area is covered by the migrated people.” Some descriptions, such as “artificial by nature,” are also imprecise for the point you appear to be making. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing employment, public services, housing and urban pressure, and check collocations before using them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause in “A major contributing factors … is to get opportunities” and a conditional example beginning “if I talk about Lahore.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “every rational person want” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “The native Lahories are just live” combines incompatible verb forms. There are also incomplete or awkward sentence patterns, such as “They introvert by nature.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; also check sentence boundaries and capitalisation.
