Student answer (Band 6.0)
In several countries , rural population is moving to urban areas , that's why the population of rural areas is significantly decreasing.I beleive this development has both positive and negative aspects while rural residents are getting jobs and better lifestyle, but it aslo result in pressure on cities .
To begin with, the movement of rural people to urban area's can provide numerous benefits . the main reason behind this is that people get better job opportunities and higher salaries in cities in comparison to rural area's. Therefore, by working in urban area they can improve there lifestyle and support their families. for instance people from villages may move to towns in search of work in factories, cafes and offices. Additionally, citiee provide better educational and medical facilities . People who move from rural area can get assess to these facilities, which may help them to improve their quality of life.for example Students may move to urban areas because of higher education and practical learning.
Nevertheless, this also create a burden on cities . firstly, movement of rural population to cities may make places more crowed. As a result, demand for housing, public transport and other facilities may increase and become more expensive . A cite of example is if the price of housing increase it may also increase electricity bills , therefore local people may also suffer. Furthermore, if rural people move to cities it may reduce the workers in countryside, specially in agricultural activities. which can negatively affect food production.
In conclusion, although transfer of village people provide benefits like work opportunities , educational and medical benefits,it can make cities overcrowded and also negatively affect food production.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the development and give a clear overall view: rural-to-urban migration can improve people’s opportunities, but it can also place pressure on cities and reduce the rural workforce. The examples of employment, education and healthcare are relevant, and the conclusion restates the main trade-off. This meets the task well, while the response is not yet consistently developed: the point about higher salaries is asserted rather than explained, and the link between rising housing costs and electricity bills is unclear. The effect on food production is also introduced briefly without an example or further explanation. Develop these points with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning to make the argument more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages and a concluding summary. The contrast marker “Nevertheless” helps signal the shift in argument, while “Therefore” and “As a result” show relationships between ideas. This organisation makes the main line of reasoning easy to follow. To strengthen cohesion further, make links between individual claims more precise; for example, the connection between housing prices and electricity bills is difficult to follow. Some transitions, such as “To begin with” and “Firstly,” are somewhat formulaic, and the final paragraph largely repeats earlier points. Use clearer referencing and vary how you connect supporting explanations and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “job opportunities,” “educational and medical facilities,” “overcrowded” and “food production,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “agricultural activities.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “beleive,” “citiee,” “crowed” and “assess” where “access” is intended. Some phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “A cite of example” and “transfer of village people.” These issues limit the precision and naturalness of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for migration, employment and urban services.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “because” and “As a result,” and a contrast clause beginning “although.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning remains understandable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical control recur. For example, “this also create a burden” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “which can negatively affect food production” is separated from the preceding sentence and left as a fragment. The opening sentence also joins ideas awkwardly, and several sentences have inconsistent punctuation and capitalisation. Practise checking agreement, sentence boundaries and clause structure, while retaining the complex forms you are attempting.
