Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a clear view that rural-to-urban migration is negative, and you begin to give a relevant reason: people move to cities to meet their needs because rural areas lack facilities. You also mention that growing city populations create problems. However, these points are only briefly introduced, and the response does not explain or support them with examples. The final sentence about villages and government provision is unfinished, so the argument is incomplete and the task is addressed only minimally. The response is 77 words, below the required 250 words; the 20 words copied from the prompt are not counted. To develop your answer, explain specific effects on cities and rural communities, support each with an example, and complete your conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a recognisable basic sequence: it gives your opinion, offers reasons, and then begins a point about government support for villages. This gives the reader some sense of the intended argument. However, the ideas are not developed into clear paragraphs, and the connection between the lack of rural facilities and the problems in cities is not fully explained. The phrase “such as” introduces an example, but the following wording does not form a clear example or complete sentence. The final thought is cut off, which prevents a coherent ending. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and connect each point with clear transitions and complete explanations.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “population,” “facilities,” “demand,” and “problems,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express cause and effect, such as linking migration to a lack of facilities and rising demand. However, the range is narrow, and several word-choice, word-form, and spelling errors make parts difficult to interpret: “lake of facilities,” “incrased,” and “gorvernment.” The phrase “rates become higher and higher” is too vague to show which costs or prices you mean. Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for example, specify whether you mean housing costs, traffic congestion, or pressure on public services.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both a direct opinion statement and a longer sentence explaining a cause, showing some ability to form more than very basic clauses. However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence-boundary and sentence-structure problems make the argument hard to follow. For example, “In my opinion this is a negative development that people move toward cities…” joins ideas without a suitable grammatical link, while “The rapidly rising of numbers…” does not form a correct noun phrase. The fragment beginning “such as” is also not a complete sentence, and the final sentence is unfinished. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use accurate punctuation to separate independent ideas.
