Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent year, in many countries around the world, rural people are moving to urban area, due to that the population of countryside is gradually decreasing. In my opinion this development has both negative and positive aspect, while rural people switching to citites for better lifestyle, it also reducing the farm cultivation of grains which is negative impact for humans.

On the one hand, the positive reason of moving to citites is get better job opportunity and medicial facilities. Primary, in fast developing world people like to become rich and for that they need to leave their hometown, however, in urban are people get easy access for food market, shoppings and night life. In addition, urbanization is not only provinding educational and health facilites, but also give chance to connect new people through social events. For instance, in urban area people can exploral new places with their family and spent good quality of time.

On the other hand, there are some negative consequences like they need to suffer from traffic conjection and pollution. Citites are so much polluting as compared with village because of that people need to suffer form health problem. For example, if people leve the rurual area then major problem will shown in crops and vegetables because in present time people get organic fruits and vegetable. Moreover, if farming will become decrease then country should suffer from economically, government earning through exports goods to others and if all village people move cities it will negative of the nation.

In conclusion, rural people are moving to cities, so the population in the countryside is decresding. People are moving for best education, job opporutnity and medical factilites, however, they need to suffer from traffic conjection and cause health problem. Although, decresing popultion of countryside is might be ok, but reducing crop farming affect the humans and especially government economy because government exports oragnic grain and vegetable to other country and raise the money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the development and give a clear overall view that it has positive and negative effects. The discussion of jobs, education and medical facilities is relevant, as is your concern about reduced farming and its effect on food supply and the economy. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction calls the development both positive and negative, while the conclusion says the decline in rural population “might be ok” without clearly weighing the two sides. Some points also need fuller explanation—for example, the link between people leaving villages, reduced crop production and national export income. The response meets the task requirements; to strengthen it, state which effect you consider more important and support that judgement with a specific example. (24 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative effects, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the main ideas generally appear in relevant paragraphs. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. In the positive paragraph, the move from job opportunities to shopping, nightlife and family outings is not clearly connected to the central argument. The negative paragraph also shifts quickly from pollution to crops and exports. Some linking phrases, such as “however” and “moreover,” do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas they join. Group related points more tightly and use clearer cause-and-effect links to make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “urbanization,” “educational and health facilities,” “traffic congestion,” “pollution” and “exports.” These choices help communicate the main subject and show attempts to use more specific language. However, the range is limited by repeated words such as “people,” “cities” and “moving,” while frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “medicial,” “conjection,” “exploral” and “organic” where the intended meaning is unclear in context. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “get better job opportunity” and “suffer from economically.” Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because” and “if.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “it also reducing” needs a finite verb form, and “if farming will become decrease” has an incorrect conditional structure. In “urbanization is not only providing … but also give,” the two parts are not grammatically parallel. Several sentences also combine multiple ideas without clear punctuation, making relationships harder to understand. Practise accurate clause patterns and parallel structures, then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
