Student answer (Band 5.5)

The migration of rural people to advance cities is significantly increasing as a result there is major decrease in population villages and town outside the city. I believe this idea has great and positive impact.

The prominent cause for this is the lack of availibility of resources resulting in mass immigration to city. Rural people are now getting handicapped in terms of technology. They do not have complete and good access to internet data and mobile phones. For instance, according to the survey of New york city, people not having great command over internet and facing issues of issues of network are now shifting to high-tier cities. In additon, inadequate facilities such as schools, hospitals and proper arrangement of houses. In some of the areas, there is shortage or no access to filtered water leading to lethal diseases.

On the other hand, urban people are facing challenges due to this. People who are educated and having calm personality is facing problems with the behaviour of rurals. For poor people surviving in modern cities may be out of their budget. A farmer, for illustration, having less income and only able to spend low would have serious problem even for sparing money for daily needs.

In my opinion, government should make some protocol for the people who are living countryside. Introducing good and accesible network, providing good infrastructure for education and healthcare and providing daily wages to unemployed ones. This would create suitable environment for both.

To conclude, boundries are not set for citizens but it is surely matter of accordance. People working in rural must understand seriousness of life in cities and urban people should try to match frequency and help them to get through this situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that rural-to-urban migration has a positive impact, and you identify relevant issues such as limited rural services and the cost of city life. However, the position is not sustained consistently: the paragraph beginning “On the other hand” focuses on disadvantages for urban residents and migrants, while the conclusion shifts to advice about how both groups should behave. The response therefore only partly develops whether the trend itself is positive or negative. The examples, including the New York survey and the farmer’s budget, are mentioned but not explained enough to show how they support your judgement. Keep one position clear throughout and develop two or three reasons with specific, relevant explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “For instance” and “On the other hand” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is uneven: the first body paragraph lists several rural problems, while the next introduces urban challenges without clearly connecting them to your stated positive position. The final paragraph also moves from the effects of migration to recommendations, then ends with broad advice, so the argument does not build to a focused conclusion. Some links are unclear, particularly “This would create suitable environment for both,” because the groups and the intended outcome are not fully specified. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use clear references to connect examples to that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “mass immigration,” “inadequate facilities,” “lethal diseases” and “infrastructure,” which helps convey the subject. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “advance cities” and “high-tier cities” are not natural descriptions in this context, while “people who are educated and having calm personality” does not clearly express the intended contrast. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “availibility,” “additon,” “accesible” and “boundries.” Aim for precise, familiar collocations rather than ambitious phrases whose meaning is uncertain, and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures such as “The prominent cause for this is the lack of… resulting in…” and a conditional recommendation beginning “This would create…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, agreement and articles occur often enough to affect clarity. For example, “people who are educated and having calm personality is facing problems” mixes verb forms and has subject–verb disagreement; “A farmer… would have serious problem” also needs clearer sentence structure and article use. The opening sentence joins two independent ideas without suitable punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating long ideas into complete sentences, then check articles, plurals and agreement.
