Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, the population from the urban areas is reducing gradually because people around the world are relocating themselves from rural areas to cities. This essay will discuss what are the reasons and why before reaching the concretre solution.
To begin with, there are many reasons why people are migrating fro rural areas to modern cities. Firstly, lack of electricity, government is not providing sufficient electricity to the rural areas because of that people are suffering at night . Another reason is lack of hospitals, people suffer from various deceases bur cannot be cured due to hospitals nowhere to be found. For example, individual cannot treat their wounds or illness due to lack of healthcare and electricity.
Furthermore, one more reason is lack of education, children from the countryside lack education due to no government schools to be found. Children cannot study or educate themselves because of lack of teachers. Lastly, increasing number of unemployment, children cannot find any job opputrinuties because they have nothing to do in ther rural areas. For instance, people cannot get any job due to lack of education and degree.
In my opinion, government should provide resources like electricity, education, healthcare and many more so that children can educate from the schools and graduate themselves and would not get unemployed. Government should also provide healthcare so that elderly people can be treated to the nearest hospital and would not have to go far for the operations.
To conclude, it is ovious that people are migrating from countryside to city side to upgrade themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response identifies several reasons for rural-to-urban migration, including limited electricity, healthcare, education and employment, and it offers a related recommendation for government action. However, the task asks whether this trend is positive or negative, and your position is not clearly stated or maintained: the opening promises to discuss reasons and a solution, while the conclusion only says people move to improve themselves. As a result, the central question is addressed only minimally. The examples are also general and sometimes unclear, such as the claim that there are no government schools. State explicitly whether you consider the development positive or negative, then explain and support that judgement with specific consequences for both rural communities and cities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, an opinion paragraph and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore” and “Lastly” help readers follow the list of reasons. However, progression is somewhat mechanical: the body paragraphs mainly add another reason rather than developing a connected argument about whether migration is positive or negative. The introduction’s promise to discuss reasons and a solution also does not match the task or the conclusion. Some links between ideas are unclear, particularly the example about people being unable to treat wounds because of both healthcare and electricity. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain its effect, and use references and transitions that make the relationship between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “migrating,” “healthcare,” “unemployment” and “resources,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less clear or natural. For example, “population from the urban areas is reducing” reverses the direction of the trend described in the prompt, while “city side” and “upgrade themselves” are imprecise expressions. There are also misspellings such as “deceases,” “opputrinuties” and “obvious.” Aim for accurate topic phrases such as “rural residents move to urban areas,” “employment opportunities” and “improve their prospects,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because” and “so that,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and errors recur in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation. For example, “the population … is reducing” does not form a clear grammatical description of the trend, and “lack of electricity, government is not providing…” joins two clauses incorrectly. In “children can educate from the schools,” the verb pattern is also faulty. Full stops are sometimes separated from the preceding word by a space, and some sentences run together ideas without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a complete structure.
