Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's modern era, population are rapidly increasing in cities and that's why in rural area there will be significantly decrease in population. In some countries around the world, people from villages are moving to urban areas, so through that population in villages fall rapidly. I think that is a negative development because in countryside we have a comfortable and healthy life and also through that there will be massive increase in cities population.

Firstly, in villages we have a healthy and comfortable life beacuse in city their were too much traffic and polluted environment due vehicles and also noise pollution due to that people suffer from multiple diseases like skin allergy and different type viruses. E.g., we are live in villages and we have very comfortable life not any type of pollution and also fresh vegetable and fruits are available in our village. So, through that I think i will prefer to live in villages intead to rushy cities.

Secondly, Due to increase in migration from villages to cities. Cities population increase rapidly and local authorities can not handle that development in positive way. So, rural prople should think about that shifting to cities now not a comfortable decision. There will be no doubt in cities people have multiple carrer options to grab at time but I think health is the priority for everyone.

In conclusion, I think that are negative development for people to move from fresh environment area to polluted environment area. In villages, people spend their live comfortable and open fields in villages for entrainment and for runing. So, we need to stay at the countryside instead of moving to urban populated areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider rural-to-urban migration a negative development, and you give relevant reasons involving pollution, health and pressure on city authorities. The examples of fresh produce and open fields also help connect your view to rural life. This addresses the main question, but the reasons are not equally developed. For instance, you mention that city authorities cannot manage population growth, yet do not explain what problems this creates, such as pressure on housing or public services. The claim that village life is comfortable and healthy is repeated more than it is supported, and the benefits of urban employment are acknowledged only briefly. Develop each main point with a specific consequence or example to make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to identify. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening repeats the idea that rural populations are falling, while “Due to increase in migration from villages to cities” is a sentence fragment rather than a complete transition into the next point. The example beginning “E.g.” also interrupts the paragraph’s flow. Use complete linking sentences and make the relationship between each claim, explanation and example explicit. Avoid repeating the same point in the introduction and conclusion without adding a concise summary of the main reasons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “polluted environment,” “noise pollution,” “migration” and “career options.” There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “local authorities” and “multiple diseases.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “massive increase in cities population” and “rushy cities” are not idiomatic, while “different type viruses” is unclear. Spelling errors such as “beacuse,” “intead” and “prople” also affect accuracy. Build a bank of precise phrases for urban pressures and rural advantages, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, using forms such as “because” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction recur. For example, “population are rapidly increasing” needs a singular verb, and “in rural area there will be significantly decrease” has an incorrect article and verb pattern. “We are live in villages” and “their were too much traffic” also show problems with verb forms and agreement. Some sentences join ideas awkwardly, particularly “Due to increase in migration from villages to cities. Cities population increase rapidly.” Practise accurate clause construction and review subject–verb agreement, articles and verb patterns; then proofread longer sentences for complete, clearly connected clauses.
