Student answer (Band 6.0)

Most of rural people suffer from lack of money and live a simple life. Nowadays mostly rural citizens prefer to moving to cities, in result, the population in most of villages are on decreasing. I have mixed opinion about the statement and i will explain it in detail.

On the one hand, migration from village to city is not good for some reasons. When people rapidly migrate from villages to cities it will bad effect on agriculture because agriculture require amount of labour but if no labour will present there will be very harmful effect on agriculture and the economy of the country will fall with significant rate because most of country` economy relay on agriculture. When people prefer to stable in cities then our culture and tradition face downfall because culture events are held only in villages and then we forget our ancestors memories

On the other hand, migration from rural areas to cities also some merits, There is no proper facilities in rural areas such as hospitals, schools people have to travel long distance to take these facilities but if people would proper stable in cities they would able to take that facilities easily. There is no proper accommodation and there is no proper way to earn their life and live with hand to mouth but when youngsters move to cities there will amount of ways for earning money to run their life. When people live in social societies they mind will become abroad because in well-developed societies lot of educated persons available.

To put it into a nutshell, there are some pros ans cons for migration from villages to cities. I think it is our responsibility to give proper facilities in villages so, people would not try to move to cities

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the issue and give a clear overall view: you recognise disadvantages such as reduced agricultural labour and cultural decline, while also noting better access to hospitals, schools and jobs in cities. Your concluding suggestion—that rural facilities should be improved—also gives your response a practical direction. However, the position is described as “mixed” and the conclusion does not clearly state whether you ultimately regard the trend as positive or negative. Some points, especially the claims about culture and the economy, are asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example. Make your final judgement explicit and develop fewer key reasons with clearer explanation or an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the contrast easy to follow, and the ideas within each paragraph generally relate to its main point. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger progression. However, several links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “in result” and “but if people would proper stable in cities.” The long sentences also combine several claims without clear boundaries, while the conclusion repeats the pros-and-cons framing rather than resolving the argument. Use clearer sentence divisions and refer back to the central question as you develop each paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “migration,” “agriculture,” “accommodation,” “facilities,” and “tradition,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as limited employment and access to services. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret: “stable in cities,” “their mind will become abroad,” and “run their life” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Some phrases are also repetitive, such as repeated references to “proper” facilities. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and choosing direct expressions for employment, education and cultural change.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if no labour will present there will be…” and clauses beginning with “When people…”. This shows an effort to connect causes and consequences, but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in examples such as “the population … are on decreasing,” “agriculture require,” and “they mind will become.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention; for instance, the opening paragraph runs into a long sentence, and the final paragraph contains a comma splice. These problems sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall message remains recoverable. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and conditional patterns, and divide long sentences into complete clauses.
