Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the topic of rural-to-urban migration and begin to state a negative view, saying, “This is not good for local people.” However, the response does not clearly answer the question with a developed position: the introduction promises to discuss “both sides,” but the task asks whether this is positive or negative, and no balanced discussion or clear conclusion follows. The only supporting point—that young people move to cities with their families—is not explained or illustrated, so the effects on rural communities remain unclear. The response also falls short of the required 250 words, leaving the task substantially incomplete. To improve, state your view directly, develop two relevant reasons with examples, and finish with a conclusion that reinforces your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph introduces the issue, and “To begin with” signals the start of a supporting point. The reader can follow the broad topic, but the progression is limited because the response ends before the argument is developed. The introduction says you will discuss both sides, yet the body gives only one brief point and does not connect it to a clear overall position. Several linking expressions, such as “while” and “because,” are present, but their relationships are not always clear. For example, the sentence beginning “In mostly countries” does not form a complete, well-connected explanation. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make each paragraph advance one clear idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “cities,” “village,” “rural,” “population,” and “decreasing,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is narrow and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the writing less clear, such as “pupolation,” “contryside,” and “thier.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “life is easy in cities compare to rural side” and “local people are moving to cities.” Aim for more precise collocations, such as “urban areas offer better opportunities” and “rural communities are losing residents.” Proofread spelling carefully and choose vocabulary that expresses the specific effects of migration, such as employment, services, and community decline.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a reason clause with “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation often make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “every local how leaves in village” is not a well-formed clause, while “life is easy in cities compare to rural side” lacks the correct comparative structure. The sentence beginning “In mostly countries” is also incomplete and is not clearly joined to the preceding idea. Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check that each sentence is complete.
