Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, an increasing number of people are moving from rural areas to urban centres. Resulting in a decline in the countryside population.Although this trend provide in people with better employment and educational opportunities. I believe it is a largely negative development because it is creates problems for rural and urban communities.
On the other hand, moving to cities can bring several benefits. Urban areas usually offer a wide range of job opportunities better educational system and more advanced healthcare facilities. As a result, people can improve their life standards. And provide a their family good future. For example in Pakistan many people move from village to cities like lahore islamaabad karachi for better job and future. this can develop their skills and achive their career goals.
On the one hand, the migration of people from the countryside can have a serious disadvantages. When young and skilled individuals leave rural areas they maybe not engough workers to support aggricultural and local businesses. food production may decline and rural community may struggle to develop. cities population can become overcrowded trafic and air population job oppertunities public transport healthcare centers hospitals and other essential servises nad faced water and food

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear overall position by calling the trend “a largely negative development,” and you acknowledge benefits such as employment, education and healthcare before explaining possible harms to rural communities and cities. These points are relevant, but the response addresses the question only partially: the benefits are briefly stated, while the negative effects are not fully explained or supported with a developed example. The Pakistan example names cities and mentions career goals, but does not show how migration affects people or communities. The final discussion is also unfinished, so the consequences for cities are unclear. The response is 54 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Extend each main point with explanation and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction and body paragraphs, and the reader can identify a contrast between the benefits and disadvantages of migration. However, progression is not consistently clear. The paragraph beginning “On the other hand” presents benefits, while “On the one hand” introduces disadvantages; this pairing is confusing because the first side is not clearly signposted as one part of a balanced argument. Several ideas are joined abruptly, and the final sentence becomes an incomplete list of urban problems. Punctuation also causes ideas to run together, as in “life standards. And provide”. Use clear topic sentences, develop one main idea at a time, and finish each paragraph with a complete explanation. A conclusion would help restate your position and bring the argument to a clear close.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “employment opportunities,” “healthcare facilities,” “skilled individuals,” and “food production.” This gives you a basic range for discussing migration and its effects. However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, and frequent spelling and word-form errors make some ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “aggricultural,” “oppertunities,” “achive,” and “air population,” which appears to mean air pollution. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “improve their life standards” and “provide a their family good future.” Choose accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “living standards,” “support their families,” and “pressure on public services” would help express your ideas clearly and efficiently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a conditional idea about young people leaving rural areas. However, many sentences contain errors that make the argument difficult to follow. “Resulting in a decline…” is a fragment, and “Although this trend provide…” is not a complete, correctly formed clause. Other examples include “it is creates problems,” “they maybe not engough workers,” and “cities population can become overcrowded,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also frequently inaccurate, particularly where full stops are missing or ideas are joined into a long, unfinished sequence. Practise writing complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and proofreading each sentence for a clear ending.
