Student answer (Band 6.0)

Rural people are migrating to cities in many countries across the world. For this reason, a decline have been observed in the population in the countryside. In my perspective, this is not a good sign of development in a long-term consideration.

Industrially developed areas require large workforce to keep alive the productivity and finincial ecology of the area. This is a strong reason that encourage rural people to move to cities for better life. To some instanct, this migrqation is profitable for the country. But large scale shifting to a small part of the country make that place over-crowded, polluted and make that site unhabitable. On the other hand, overpopulation leads to job crisis. Which in return, leads to poverty, pickpockets, crimes and so on. Moreover, the decresed population in the countryside cause damage to their economy, loss in production and lack of workforce.

Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh is one of the classic example of how a city can be affected by mass migration. The city become overcrowded and exceed it's capacity. Over half of the residents here live below the minimum standard. The air and water of the city polluted heavily making this place unable to live. Also crime rates are increasing day by day inside this place. On the other hand, the villages of Bangladesh facing lower workforce to cultivate and farming.

In a nutshell, there are so many drawbacks of movement of people from rural area to cities. But this problems can be overcome by balancing the population among countrysides and cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider rural-to-urban migration a negative development in the long term, and the conclusion restates this view. You address both sides by acknowledging that cities need workers and that migration may benefit a country to some extent, before explaining pressures on urban services and the loss of rural labour. The Dhaka example makes the argument more concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the links between overcrowding, job shortages and crime could be developed, and the claim about residents living below a minimum standard would benefit from clearer support. Develop fewer points in more detail and connect each example explicitly to your judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining general effects, a Bangladesh example, and a concluding summary. The contrast signalled by “On the other hand” helps distinguish urban pressures from rural consequences, while “Moreover” adds another relevant effect. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Which in return” is an incomplete sentence, and “But this problems” does not clearly refer to a specific set of drawbacks. The final paragraph introduces a solution—balancing populations—that has not been developed earlier. Improve progression by grouping related effects, using clear references, and explaining how the proposed solution follows from the problems discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “workforce,” “over-crowded,” “job crisis,” “production,” and “crime rates,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “in a long-term consideration.” However, several spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations reduce precision: “finincial ecology,” “instanct,” “migrqation,” and “unhabitable” are examples. “Keep alive the productivity” and “classic example” are also not natural choices in these contexts. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument sound more fluent and precise without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including the opening cause-and-effect sentence and the contrast between urban and rural consequences. Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “a decline have been observed” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the city become overcrowded” needs a past-tense verb. “Which in return, leads to…” is a sentence fragment, and “the villages of Bangladesh facing” lacks a finite verb. There are also issues with articles, plurals and possessives, as in “one of the classic example” and “it's capacity.” Review agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries, then proofread for these patterns while continuing to use varied sentence structures.
