Student answer (Band 5.5)

The people are vacating from town to urban in many areas where the population in rural areas are declining.

In my opinion moving from rural areas to urban areas is common now a days but it impacts the development in many ways. it may effect the people from younger to older and leads to negative development.

The people who are moving from town to cities have their own reasons like good carrer growth and making money etc. but in cities competion is more and also bit expensive than towns and villages. For cities it is a good development but for rural areas leads to negative impact because the people are shifting and population is declined and there is no development in rural areas. The childrens who moved along with parents may suffer due to new place and new friendships it may good for carrer growth but shows impact on children mentally.

The Government should provide support to people without moving to cities by providing essential needs like good schools for children and roads for rural areas and also implementing the work from home so that people work from their respective places.

By following actions people no need to shift places when all resources are provided in their home town and also development will be done in rural areas by government. childrens should be educated by educational institues for a good development. by living with their grandparents childrens know the ethics and moral values in their respective home town.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the movement is negative, especially for rural communities, and you mention relevant effects such as declining populations, limited local development, and children adjusting to a new place. You also suggest practical responses, including better schools and roads. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that children may suffer mentally is not explained with a specific example, and the benefits of moving to cities are acknowledged but not weighed clearly against the disadvantages. The final point about grandparents and moral values is relevant but arrives abruptly. The response is also two words below the required minimum, so it does not fully meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about reasons and effects, proposed government action, and a concluding idea. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression between points is uneven. For example, the discussion moves from city competition to rural decline and then to children’s mental adjustment without clearly showing how these ideas connect. The final paragraph introduces grandparents and values rather suddenly. Linking phrases such as “For cities” and “By following actions” are either unclear or awkward, while repeated references to “people” and “children” make the writing feel repetitive. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s purpose, then connect each supporting point explicitly to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “population,” “development,” “essential needs,” and “work from home,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts difficult to read. Examples include “vacating from town to urban,” “good carrer growth,” “competion,” and “home town.” Some expressions are vague, such as “impacts the development in many ways,” and “good development” is repeated without specifying what kind of progress is meant. Aim for more precise phrases for migration, employment, and rural services, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms with specific alternatives will make your argument clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “The people who are moving from town to cities…” and a recommendation using “by providing.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “the population in rural areas are declining” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “For rural areas leads to negative impact” lacks a clear grammatical subject. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “it may effect…” after a full stop and the lower-case “by living” at the start of the final sentence. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and review agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
