Student answer (Band 5.0)

Rural people are moving to cities, so the population is decresing in countryside in many countries around the world. I prefer, that rural people should not move to cities they should stay in village.

To begin with, as the rural people are illiterate they dont know how to live, these people throw the garbage everywhere and do noise pollution not only noise pollution but also they do protests sometimes, which lead to traffic jam and block the road. Rural people do rash driving, they do not follow the rules and break laws. They can be a farmer asthey have acres of land on the name of themselves.

On the other hand, if rural people leave village who will cultivate the crops, who will be the farmer. The land get droughts which they have. It also includes housing and pollution problems if all rural people move to the city, City will be overcrowded, as the cars will more in city this leads to pollution. Cities have expensive housing and facilities which they cant afford. Nowadays they have all the facilities available in rural areas it includes internet, electricity, water supply and fresh atmosphere. Even the any kind of pollution is not there. People can live as they want. they can open shops at their home which is not available in cities.

It concludes that rural people should not move to cities as economy of our agricutural sector will go down. By this people will not get food. People rely on farmers to get food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that rural residents should remain in villages, and you offer relevant points about farming, food supply, overcrowding, pollution and housing costs. However, the response only partially develops the question: the opening claim that rural people are “illiterate” and cause noise or traffic problems is broad, unsupported, and risks stereotyping rather than explaining the effects of rural-to-urban migration. The discussion would be stronger if it focused consistently on consequences for both rural and urban communities and supported claims with specific examples. The response contains 244 words, so it is six words below the required minimum; this also limits the space available to develop your reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposting such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” helps identify the main sections. However, the progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from literacy to rubbish, protests, driving and farming without showing how these points connect to the question. Several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences, while “On the other hand” introduces points that mostly support the same position rather than a contrasting view. The conclusion repeats the central claim but adds little synthesis. Group related consequences together and use clearer links between each reason and your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cultivate the crops,” “overcrowded,” “housing” and “agricultural sector.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “do noise pollution,” “on the name of themselves” and “the land get droughts.” Spelling errors, including “decresing” and “agricutural,” are noticeable, and repeated use of “people,” “city” and “pollution” makes the writing less varied. Aim for accurate collocations and more precise terms for the effects of migration, such as pressure on urban services or a shortage of agricultural workers. Check spelling carefully during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but complex sentences are often difficult to follow because clauses are joined without reliable punctuation or grammatical control. For example, “I prefer, that rural people should not move to cities they should stay in village” contains an unnecessary comma and joins two independent clauses; “as the cars will more in city” is also structurally incomplete. Errors in articles, agreement and verb forms recur, as in “The land get droughts” and “who will cultivate the crops, who will be the farmer.” These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly linked supporting clause, then check articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries.
