Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is true that around the world in many countries rural people are migrating to urban areas and the population in the village area is declining. People nowadays trying to get the best oppurtunities which they can easily get in the urban areas and definitely it has negative development on a country.
One possible reason is to shifting from rural areas to city areas to access the essential services that they can get barely in their village. In modarn cities so many opportunities such as healthcare, better education, entertainment and other facilities are easy to excess. For example,if anyone lives in the village where their is no opportunities of good medical center then he/she must need to come to the urban area to contact a good doctor. Another issue is finding a better quality education in rural areas, which is only available in the modern cities and thats why people try to shift with their childrens.
Excess migration process can lead serious issues in the society. If everyone want to get the best opportunities and come to one area it can occure over population. Everyone thinking the same way to get the best facilities and live in a same city which ultimately the overcrowedness can make the environment worse.. Also the over population can also affect the supply and demand chain of food because the demand of consumption level and the higher cost of living.
In conclusion, although people are shifting from rural areas to city areas, population in the countryside is decreasing and definitely it is creating worse situation for both urban and countryside and i believe that it has huge negative development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you consider rural-to-urban migration a negative development, and you give relevant reasons, including access to healthcare and education and pressure on city populations and food supplies. The example of someone needing to travel for medical care helps illustrate why people move. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the effects on rural communities are mentioned in the conclusion but not explained, and the claims about overcrowding and food demand need clearer cause-and-effect support. The conclusion also repeats the main view rather than drawing together the reasons. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences for both rural and urban areas and develop each point with a specific example or further explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on reasons for migration, while the next discusses possible consequences, so the reader can follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and links between ideas can feel mechanical. For example, “Another issue” introduces education, although it is another reason rather than an issue, and “Also” repeats the additive link in the overcrowding paragraph. Some sentences combine several claims without showing how they connect. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and support it in a clear sequence; vary linking expressions and make references such as “it” or “this” precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “migrating,” “essential services,” “healthcare,” “over population” and “supply and demand.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main argument, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “easy to excess” for access, “overcrowedness,” and “negative development.” Spelling errors such as “oppurtunities,” “modarn” and “occure” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the effects of migration, such as pressure on public services or rural depopulation, would help you express the argument more clearly and avoid repeating general words like “best” and “area.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “If anyone lives in the village…” and a relative clause in “education in rural areas, which is only available…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “People nowadays trying” is missing a finite verb, while “One possible reason is to shifting” has an incorrect verb pattern. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “Everyone thinking the same way” and “it can lead serious issues.” Punctuation is inconsistent, including a double full stop and missing spaces after commas. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and build complex sentences from shorter, correct clauses.
