Student answer (Band 5.5)

In is witnessed that in ample nations in all over over the globe, countryside individual's are moving to cities area, and the population of rural area is declining. In my perspective, it is a negative development and upcoming paragraphs will justify my viewpoints.

To commence with, there are multifarious rationales why it is a negative development. Predominately, the culture and importance of that place will be decline due to migration. To explain, if people move to cities and settle there with their families so rural area will be demolish and upcoming generation will be unaware the importance and culture of countryside. Apart from this, if more people shift to big cities of the denizens of village areas will facing the facility of hospitals, schools as well as small businesses due to the lack of demand. Thus, lack of population in rural areas will not get adequate local support.

Moreover, this trend promotes bad impact on agriculture sector. To elaborate, when working age individulal's shift to cities so labor will decreasing. Due to this, agriculture secotor will be reduce no one will put efforts to grow crops alone. As a consequences, all nations will face shortage of food.

To recapitulate, restate my opinion: if rural people are moving to cities so the cultural importance of countryside areas will be decrease and due to less working age labours agriculture sector will be reduce which increase the problem of starvation because the shortage of food in all over the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider rural-to-urban migration negative, and you give relevant reasons involving cultural loss, reduced local services, and agricultural labour. However, the ideas are not developed evenly. The point about hospitals, schools, and small businesses is difficult to follow, and the link between fewer rural workers and worldwide food shortages needs explanation or a specific example. The conclusion repeats the main claims rather than adding a final insight. The response also contains 239 words, so it is 11 words below the required minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The main ideas are grouped sensibly, with cultural and community effects discussed before agriculture, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Moreover,” and “To recapitulate” help show the stages of the argument. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Apart from this” introduces a point about services without making its connection to migration clear, while “Thus” does not fully resolve the preceding sentence. The conclusion begins with the awkward instruction-like phrase “restate my opinion.” Use simpler, more precise transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “migration,” “agriculture sector,” “working age,” and “shortage of food,” and the reader can generally identify your intended arguments. However, several choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “In is witnessed,” “multifarious rationales,” “the culture and importance of that place,” and “promotes bad impact.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “individulal's” and “secotor.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than inserting formal-sounding words where they do not fit. Proofreading spelling and checking common collocations would make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with subordinate clauses, for example, “To explain, if people move to cities and settle there with their families…” This shows an effort to vary sentence structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the argument hard to follow. In “the culture and importance of that place will be decline,” the verb form is incorrect; “if more people shift to big cities of the denizens of village areas will facing” is not a complete, well-formed clause. The final sentence also joins several ideas without clear grammatical links. Practise building accurate conditional sentences and check that each clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
