Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear overall view—“I think it's a negative development”—and identify relevant concerns about rural services, employment and population balance. However, the response only partly develops the question. Much of the discussion explains why people move to cities and what governments should do, rather than showing in detail why the resulting decline in rural populations is negative. The proposed measures are relevant, but their benefits are asserted rather than explained, and the China example is too general to support the point clearly. The conclusion also ends with an incomplete idea, so the final position is not fully reinforced. To strengthen the response, explain specific consequences of rural depopulation and connect each example directly to your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable paragraph structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding section. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “On the concluding note” help signal movement between sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph shifts from transport and healthcare to schools and jobs without clearly linking these points to the negative effects of rural decline. The second paragraph moves into government solutions, which are not clearly connected to the preceding argument. Some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion repeats earlier points before stopping abruptly. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting detail to the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “migrating,” “health care system,” “government,” “rural people,” and “source of income.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “village to cities,” “plent of facilities,” “invent factories,” and “the balance will stays.” Spelling errors such as “oppourtunities,” “facilties,” and “succesful” are also noticeable. Aim to use more precise phrases for migration, rural services and employment, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms like “facilities” with specific examples would also make the argument clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause in “people are migrating to the cities because…” and a conditional idea beginning “If the government should take this action…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “individual have good health care system” has problems with agreement and articles, while “If the government should take this action individual like to live there” has an unclear conditional construction. The opening also joins the opinion and explanation without appropriate sentence boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete sentence structures, then build longer sentences from those reliable patterns.
