Student answer (Band 5.0)

NOW A DAYS , LARGE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS ARE MIGRATING FROM FROM RURAL AREA TO URBAN CITIES ,IN MY OPINION IT IS NEGATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRY.

THE REASON IS ,PEOPLE WHO ARE MOVING TO URBAN CITIES HAVE THEIR OWN REASON . BUT IT CAN IMPACT ECONOMY OF THE COUNTRY BECUSE IF HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE MOVE TOWARDS UBRAN CITIES ,RURAL AREA WILL BECAME LESS PRODUCTIVE ,LESS DEVELOPED MOREVER LESS POPULATED WHICH WILL DIRECT IMPACT TO ECONOMY,LEASS NUMBER OF PEOPLE IS EQUAL TO DECLINE IN AGRICULTRAL SECTOR AS WELL AS RURAL AREA WILL SUFFER FROM SHORTAGE OF YOUNG SKILLED PERSON AND LOCAL BUSSINESS.FOR EX : IN INDIA,MANY YOUNG PEOPLE MIGRATE BY WHICH THE POPULATION OF URBAN CITIES GET INCREASED

SECONDLY IF PEOPLE MOVE TO URBAN AREA IT WILL BE CONVENIENT FOR THEM ,THEY CAN GET MUCH BETTER TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES THEREFORE MUCH BETTER EDUCATION AS WELL AS GOOD HOSPITALS AS A RESULT THEY CAN ACHIEVE THIER GOALS EASILY.FOR EXAMPLE : SOME PEOPLE MOVE FOR BETTER EDUCATION AND JOB,SOME PEOPLE MOVE FOR BETTER LIFESTYLE .THIS CAN BE ADVANTAGE FOR THEM.

IN CONCLUSION ,ALTHOUGH MOVING TO CITIES ARE FAR BETTER FROM LIVING IN RURAL AREAS BECAUSE UBRAN AREAS PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS WITH BETTER OPPORTUNITIES AND FACILITIES.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear view in the opening—that rural-to-urban migration is negative—and give a relevant reason: fewer people in rural areas may weaken agriculture and local businesses. However, the response addresses the question only partially. The second body paragraph explains benefits for migrants, such as better transport, education and hospitals, but does not clarify how these benefits affect your overall judgement; the conclusion then calls city living “far better,” contradicting your stated negative position. The India example is also only briefly mentioned and does not demonstrate the claimed economic effects. The response is 201 words, below the required 250, so there is limited space to develop and support the ideas. Maintain one position, explain the consequences in more detail, and add a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “The reason is” and “Secondly” signal the order of points, and the contrast between rural economic effects and urban opportunities is relevant. However, progression is not consistently clear. The second paragraph shifts to advantages for individuals without linking them to your overall negative view, and the conclusion reverses that view. Several ideas are crowded into long sentences, making relationships difficult to follow, while repeated “for example” phrases do not lead to developed examples. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each point explicitly to your position, and use clearer sentence boundaries and referencing to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “agricultural sector,” “transportation facilities,” “skilled person” and “local business,” so the reader can identify the main subject and arguments. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making meaning less clear: “urban cities,” “less productive, less developed moreover less populated,” and “decline in agricultural sector.” Spelling errors such as “becuse,” “ubran,” “agricultral” and “thier” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe rural areas as “less productive” or “underpopulated,” and refer to a “decline in agricultural output” rather than a decline in the sector itself.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional structure beginning “if huge number of people move” and a result clause with “as a result.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand the relationships between ideas. Examples include “people who are moving … have their own reason,” “rural area will became,” and “moving to cities are,” which show problems with agreement and verb forms. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a huge number” and “better education and job.” Punctuation is often missing or misplaced, especially around clauses and examples. Practise accurate sentence patterns first, then combine ideas using controlled subordinate clauses and full stops.
