Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You make a limited attempt to address the letter’s purpose: you mention helping Mrs Barrett at home and explain that university affects your availability in the morning. However, the help you offer is unclear, and the reason for wanting the work is not developed; “it's my turn to pay back” does not explain your motivation clearly. Your availability after university is also vague, and you do not specify which days or times you can work. The response is 98 words, below the required 150, so several task details remain missing. To improve, describe specific household tasks, give a clear reason for applying, and state precise available and unavailable times.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to move from your reason for writing to the kind of help you might offer and then to your schedule. The reference to university also gives the reader some context for your availability. However, the ideas run together in one long sequence, with no clear letter structure or paragraphing, and connections between them are difficult to follow. For example, “through social media platforms” appears without a clear link to helping in the home. Use separate paragraphs for your offer, motivation, and availability, and connect each idea directly to the task. Clear sentence boundaries and simple linking phrases would make the progression easier to understand.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “university,” “in the morning,” and “in evening,” so the reader can identify the general topic. However, the range is basic and several word choices or spellings make the intended meaning difficult to understand. “Developing word social media platform” does not clearly describe a household task, while “pay back” and “gorgeous lady” are not suitable or precise choices for explaining your motivation and addressing a prospective employer. Aim for direct, natural phrases such as “help with household chores” and “gain work experience.” Check spelling and choose words that clearly express the specific service you can provide.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express several connected ideas, including a reason for being unavailable in the morning and a contrast with your return from university. This shows an effort to communicate more than isolated details. However, sentence boundaries and basic sentence patterns are not controlled consistently, and errors often make the relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “i can help it their own home” and “when i turn back from university in evening i must bi help” do not form clear, accurate clauses. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, verb forms, and punctuation. Short, accurate sentences would help convey your offer and schedule more reliably.
