Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly outlined the tasks you could perform, explained your motivation for applying, and provided specific details regarding your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. To improve, you could expand slightly on the 'why' section by connecting your personal skills more directly to the needs of the household, which would demonstrate a more developed response. Overall, the letter is well-structured and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter follows a logical progression, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You have used basic cohesive devices such as 'Also', 'However', and 'if', which help the reader follow your ideas. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the transition between sentences is smoother. For example, instead of starting sentences with 'Also' or 'I', you could use more sophisticated connectors like 'Furthermore' or 'In addition to these duties'. Paragraphing is used correctly, which helps the overall readability of your letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly. Phrases like 'house helper position' and 'family commitments' are appropriate for the context. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'going groceries' (should be 'doing the grocery shopping') and 'paying attention to the work' (could be 'being diligent'). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more specific terms related to household tasks would also enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'if these hours will suits for you' (should be 'if these hours suit you') and 'a great benefit for me' (should be 'it would be a great benefit'). Additionally, there are some punctuation and capitalization slips, such as the lowercase 'i' used throughout the text. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and ensure that you proofread for basic mechanical errors, which will help you achieve a more professional tone.
