Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: suggesting how you can help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. However, some ideas could be more fully developed. For instance, while you mention your 'home science studies,' linking this more explicitly to the specific tasks you offered would strengthen your application. The purpose of the letter is clear throughout, and you have maintained a consistent focus on the requirements of the advertisement. Overall, you have successfully completed the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'In addition,' and 'Furthermore' to transition between ideas. While these are effective, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to avoid a slightly mechanical feel. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of your request. The progression of ideas is clear, and the reader can easily follow your argument regarding your skills and availability.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'household chores,' 'commute,' and 'consideration.' There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'I am living in next year' (likely meaning 'I am living nearby') and 'essay' instead of 'easy.' Additionally, 'handy man skills' should be 'handyman skills.' While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring word forms are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'I was going for shopping' (should be 'I was going shopping'), 'a advertisement' (should be 'an advertisement'), and 'I could able to' (should be 'I am able to'). These errors are frequent but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while reducing these minor errors will help improve your score.
