Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: suggesting how you can help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbor, though the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For example, you mention cleaning and cooking, which is relevant, but expanding slightly on your specific skills or experience would have made the response more persuasive. The purpose of the letter is clear throughout, and you have successfully communicated your intent to apply for the position. To improve, ensure that each point is developed with a bit more detail to fully satisfy the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For instance, you rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and the transitions between ideas are often abrupt. While the overall progression of the letter is clear, the lack of varied linking words (such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition') makes the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the use of these devices will help your ideas connect more naturally and improve the overall readability of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You use words like 'help' and 'house' multiple times, which limits the range of your expression. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'definatiy' (definitely), 'avaikable' (available), and 'inquire' (inquiry), which occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider variety of synonyms and more precise collocations related to household tasks and employment. Focusing on accurate spelling and expanding your vocabulary will significantly enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There is a mix of simple and some attempts at complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent errors in basic grammar, such as 'im help to help you' (I am happy to help you) and 'i am not only able on weekends' (I am only available on weekdays). Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent capitalization and missing commas. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall quality. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation will help improve your score.
