Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: suggesting how you can help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. However, the development of these ideas is quite basic. For instance, while you mention household chores, expanding slightly on your experience or specific skills would have made the letter more persuasive. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbor, though it leans towards being overly informal. To improve, ensure that you provide a more structured response that clearly separates each requirement into distinct paragraphs to help the reader follow your points more easily.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is easy to follow, but the lack of paragraphing makes it feel like a single block of text. Using paragraphs is essential in formal and semi-formal letter writing to separate different topics, such as your skills, your motivation, and your availability. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'however' and 'if', but the flow between sentences is sometimes repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear central theme. The closing is also somewhat abrupt and lacks a standard formal sign-off.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is functional and allows you to communicate your message clearly, but it is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on simple words like 'help', 'job', and 'perfect'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'worrey' instead of 'worry' and 'fell' instead of 'feel'. To improve, try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and verbs related to household management or professional communication. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you express your suitability for the role more effectively and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect capitalization (e.g., 'i', 'monday'), punctuation errors (e.g., missing commas and periods), and run-on sentences. For example, 'As i completed my studies and i am free now, so I am also looking for a job' is grammatically awkward. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the overall score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for capitalization and punctuation will significantly improve your accuracy.
