Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: suggesting help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a prospective employer. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention being a 'good cook,' providing a specific example of a dish or a type of cuisine would have made your application more persuasive. Similarly, the explanation of your financial situation is a bit abrupt. To improve, try to expand on your skills and professional attitude to better convince Mrs Barrett of your suitability for the role.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. You use basic cohesive devices like 'I also' and 'I earlier said' to link your ideas. However, the paragraphing is inconsistent; the body of the letter is somewhat clumped together. Using clear paragraph breaks for each of the three bullet points would significantly improve the readability and flow of your writing. Additionally, some transitions are a bit mechanical, such as 'I earlier said,' which could be replaced with more natural linking phrases to improve the overall cohesion of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs and skills clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'household work,' 'financial position,' and 'full-time.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'advertise' instead of 'advertisement' and 'I would made' instead of 'I would make.' To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to domestic tasks and professional communication, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'the advertise you publish' (should be 'the advertisement you published'), 'I also help you' (should be 'I could also help you'), and 'I am recently done' (should be 'I have recently completed'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the message from being understood. Focusing on verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and correct article usage will help you achieve greater accuracy in your future writing.
