Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: suggesting help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to an acquaintance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention 'cooking' and 'gardening', these points could be expanded to show how your skills would specifically benefit Mrs Barrett. The explanation regarding your availability is clear, though the mention of going to the movies on Tuesdays and Thursdays is slightly informal for a job application letter. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'First' and 'Now' to transition between ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be improved. For instance, the phrase 'This is all task that i can perform' is slightly awkward and disrupts the logical progression. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus. The structure is sufficient for the task, but it lacks the sophisticated flow required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use relevant terms such as 'advertisement', 'financial conditions', and 'consideration'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'looking someone for help' (should be 'looking for someone to help') and 'go for movie for outing' (which is unnatural). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and verbs related to household tasks would also strengthen your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the'/'a'), prepositions, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'As i saw your advertisement', 'it help me', 'on this days'). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary comma in 'Wednesday and, Friday'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy of the text. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical consistency will significantly improve your score.
