Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: suggesting help, explaining your motivation, and clarifying your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you list chores like 'gardening' and 'cleaning', expanding slightly on your experience or specific skills would have made the application more persuasive. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the requirements are met, though the content could be more detailed to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'While', 'Since', and 'Therefore' (implied). However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or missing. For example, the sentence 'Let me explain my situation' is a bit abrupt. Additionally, there are some issues with punctuation, such as the comma splice in 'Let me explain my situation, I am currently...', which affects the flow of ideas. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively, such as 'postgraduate course', 'tuition fees', and 'contribute'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'having a great experience in household chores', where 'experience with' or 'proficiency in' would be more natural. You also use 'from last years', which is grammatically incorrect and lexically awkward. The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'from last years' (should be 'for the last few years'), 'Since childhood my parents taught me' (missing a comma or restructuring), and 'during next summer In the evening' (capitalization error). There are also issues with sentence boundaries, such as the comma splice mentioned earlier. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
