Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I am writing to apply for a part-time position as advertised in local newspaper. I understand that you need someone to help you with household chores next summer, so I can perform all the duties.

Since I have grown up in a middle class family where we performed all household chores, I can assist you in every work such as cleaning, cooking and washing. Moreover, if you need help in shopping or in attending doctor's appointments, I can drive you in my own vehicle.

As I am a student of Hotel management, this experience would be useful to grab future opportunities. In addition, the money I earn from this job will contribute in my next year tuition fees.

I am available to work every day in summer. However, I am planning to start Uber to earn extra money in evenings. So, I would not be able to work after 5:00 pm. Please let me know if this availability works for you. Otherwise, I could adjust my schedule as your requirement.
