IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I hope you are doing good. I am writing this letter to show you my interest in helping you in your household work for next summer. As you know, I am a student and I will have a summer break from my college. Therefore, I will have plenty of time during that period to help you.

To begin with, I am a nursing student and a part time personal support worker. Due to that, I know about providing assistance to elders. Moreover, I am willing to do cleaning, dishes and cooking. I live near to your house, thus; you can call me any time and in meantime, I will be at your place.

Moving forward, working at your home will not only support you but also, help me to utilize my extra time in a meaningful way. However, I am working in a hospital for 7am to 1pm on Monday to Friday. During that hours, I will be unavailable but on weekends will be free for whole day.
