Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.

Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter

• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mrs Barrett,

Dear Mrs Barrett,

I am writing to inform you that, I am interested to help you in next summer as you mentioned in your advertisement.

I have been living in your town for several years, and I had gone through your advertisement for someone to help you in your home for a few hours. I am a perfect candidate for your work, because I can help you in your household chores, gardening and laundering. Additionally, I had done course in cooking, which will help you to make different delicious recipes.

In summer, it will be a vacation period for me. Therefore, rather than spending whole day at home, I think it would be better to do some work to manage my expenditure.

I have already committed for the morning shift, so I will be available from the afternoon. To clarify, I can come for work between 2 to 5 in afternoon, which would be convenient for you and for me also.

I am looking forward to your response.
