Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You suggest specific tasks like cooking and pet care, explain your motivation for seeking employment, and clearly state your availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although some phrasing is slightly unnatural. The ideas are relevant and well-developed, ensuring the reader understands your purpose and qualifications. To reach a higher band, ensure that the connection between your qualifications and the specific needs of the employer is more seamless. Overall, the task is fully addressed with a clear purpose throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each addressing a specific requirement of the prompt. You use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Furthermore', and 'Apart from this' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. To improve, try to vary the sentence starters and ensure that the flow between sentences feels more natural rather than relying on standard linking words at the beginning of every paragraph.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including some idiomatic expressions like 'spic and span' and 'radiant health'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'exploring the vocation in my field' and 'teaching to your children'. While these errors do not impede communication, they highlight a need for more precise usage. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—rather than just individual vocabulary items. Expanding your range of formal expressions will also help elevate the tone of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'I accomplished my studies in the last month' (should be 'completed'), 'teaching to your children' (unnecessary preposition), and 'disturbing to anyone'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization after commas and the use of commas in lists. While these errors rarely impede the overall meaning, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of prepositions to improve accuracy.
