Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points in the prompt: suggesting help, explaining the motivation, and detailing availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why you want the work ('rejuvenate myself') is a bit vague and could have been expanded to sound more professional. Additionally, the phrasing 'I thought from my end I shared the reliable information' is unnatural and does not clearly convey the intended meaning. To improve, ensure that each point is elaborated with more specific detail to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each addressing a specific part of the prompt. There is a clear progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the closing. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical. Phrases like 'with all this' and 'with this' are used to link ideas, but they feel slightly repetitive and unnatural. The transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow of the text. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is clear would help elevate the coherence of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic descriptors such as 'very nice' and 'awesome', which are too informal for a letter of this nature. Phrases like 'rejuvenate myself' are used, but the overall lexical range is limited. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'assist to you' (should be 'assist you') and 'house hold tasks' (should be 'household tasks'). To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more precise, professional vocabulary that is better suited to a formal job inquiry.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'I am very nice in house hold tasks' should be 'I am very good at household tasks'. There are also issues with preposition usage and sentence construction, such as 'In next summer' (should be 'Next summer') and 'after 2.00pm on all weekdays as well as on weekends'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will improve your accuracy.
