Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points, but the development is quite limited. You suggest helping in the home, but you do not specify what tasks you can perform (e.g., cleaning, gardening, or shopping). The reasons for wanting the job are vague, and your availability section is confusing, as you contradict yourself regarding weekends and weekdays. Furthermore, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task completion. To improve, you should provide concrete examples of your skills and ensure your availability is clearly and logically stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is divided into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is disjointed. The transition between your motivation for the job and your availability is abrupt. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link your sentences, making the text feel like a series of isolated statements rather than a cohesive letter. For example, the shift from 'I am a helpful person' to 'When it comes to availability' lacks a logical bridge. Improving the use of linking words such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'however' would significantly enhance the readability and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'doing help' and 'doing work,' which are not natural collocations in this context. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'I will present next some' and 'I started following you Facebook,' which hinder clarity. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise vocabulary related to employment and household tasks, such as 'assist with chores,' 'flexible schedule,' or 'previous experience.' You should also focus on correct word forms and collocations to ensure your message is conveyed accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('I will busy'), incorrect verb tenses ('I started following you'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that impede communication. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensure you use the correct tense for future availability, and pay closer attention to proofreading for minor errors like capitalization and missing words.
